I enjoyed this very much. The guy was great throughout. The girl started looking rather uncomfortable (for a goddess); but was fine after the opening. She has a great look for this role. They did a very nice job!

I love this ballet. But why it's called Diana and Acteon is a mystery to me. The story bears no relation to the classical myth. It is really more Tarzan meets Jane. But, who cares? It is beautiful.

It is really an interpolation. It was inserted to La Esmeralda and it's used rather as a divertissement. It doesn't tell a story nor does it advance the plot of La Esmeralda. Why Diana and Actaeon? Actaeon once stumble upon Diane and her nymphs bathing, and they transformed him into a stag, only to hunt him. But then again this pas de deux doesn't tell any story.

@@davemorgan6013 i know it is vaganova and that's why i don't like it. At this time ballet-circus was at its peak with vaganova and vladimir ponomarev as leaders of this movement. i prefer intricate choregraphy using classical vocabulary in all its nuances.

Да уж, никакого сравнения с блистательной Дианой Татьяны Тереховой. Вот где был настоящий класс! Легко найти и посмотреть.Здесь нет никакого образа богини. Какая то "полусонная", тяжелая солистка...Физкультура.
