Yes they're wearing their names. This was a performance created for MAMA (an awards show), so I believe it's to let the camera people know who is who - so they can track specific people. This was a dance practice for an award show performance, it's different from the MV because there are additional dance breaks added and the music is the original version which does not hit as hard as the Aoki remix. They are wearing the name tags, to help production and camera directors better map out their angles. I enjoy watching dancers react to BTS, its always good to get the perspective from someone who actually knows what they are talking about. Any commentary you give on how easy or difficult moves may be is always appreciated. Of course we are always willing to watch others perform good dance covers, and if you put your own twist into it then even better. I like your reaction but your sound kept dipping out, I don't know if it was intentional, but it did put a bit of a damper because I didn't know what you were saying in those moments.

This is the original track and not the Steve Aoki remix. The dance practice was for the Mnet Asian Music Awards performance. Dance practices are often a bit slower as there's a lot to co-ordinate. But when they perform it on stage it's at a normal pace. They also have to account for stage size and spacing for the dancers to come on. To understand what I mean, check out one of the MAMA awards to see how big their productions are. They're epic. I used to think that the Grammy's or the Oscars were huge productions. They're nothing in comparison.

this is the korean version with extended special dance breaks because it was for an award show called MAMA. you should watch the live show of this.

This version is also different because it's an extended performance version with 3 dance breaks. It is phenomenal when they perform it live. (Yes the Korean version. There's a short Korean version and a Japanese version and probably a few others.)

This is the original Mic Drop which is the Korean version. Steve aoki is just a remix they did with an MV that had more English lyrics. BTS also has a Japanese ver. of Mic Drop but the dance is still the same without the 3 dance breaks. Mic Drop is usually performed in the Korean version but the dance breaks are usually included for BTS concerts or award shows. MAMA is a huge year-end award show so this was the dance practice for that =)

If I'm correct, because this song was being sung at the MAMAs, they incorporated some extra (Japanese?) lyrics into this dance practice. BTS, in fact, incorporates lots of different languages into their songs so that they can better appeal to whichever country they are appearing in next. (All their songs that I've heard always have their primary foundation in Korean, however.)

No apologies necessary... your confusion is understandable. This is NOT a music video, nor is intended to pass as one. This is how they practice their dance choreography for their stage performances. The musical part of it is practiced separately, in the beginning, and then the dance gets layered into it in stages. The 'dance practice' bit does NOT have them singing, it just has the beat, track and bare bones of the song so they can time their choreography to it later. As such, we don't ever get to see an actual 'dance practice', per se, what we get to enjoy is the finished product once they've mastered the choreo and are ready to blend in the vocals.

they have many version of their tittle track so dont be confused if the sound is different, mostly it have original (korean) version, jappanese version and remix/english version. you will know later when you watch their live performances or looking for their whole discography (which is a LOT)

I was told they wear their names in some practice videos if the video is for camera crew to prep for the performance. This was a performance dance practice for an award show where they weren’t going to be using their own camera crew. The song is mostly in Korean as this show was in Asia..the more English/Steve Aoki version is used for English speaker performances e.g. in the UK and US.

They wear name tags to help out the staff who might not be familiar with their names. Also for rehearsals so the camera crew and producers know who they are and can direct them from afar.

The one in the music video is a remix of the song done by Steve Aoki and it’s mostly in English.
