Finally people acknowledging just how *hard* that choreo is!! Usually reactors (even supposed dancers) aren't as impressed because it's less big and flashy and high tempo than most, so they leave it at "yeah it's pretty" and don't acknowledge how *intricate* it is... This song, mv AND choreo are among their best, and that's why Spring Day is the forever queen of the charts. Thank you for your great reaction as always, have a good week 💜

This song had a lot of meaning for them and for the people in South Korea. The MV, lyrics and explanation of the MV are very moving. This has never left the charts since it entered like over 4 years ago now because of how much this song means to people. It's definitely worth checking out. Thank you all so much for taking the time to react to this and give your perspective on their movement and dance.

The beauty about the Spring Day choreography is that it shows how much work goes in to making 'simple' movements look very effortless & beautiful. Any music act can make a flashy choreo look great but with 'simple', less flashy choreo, viewers are paying more attention because there isn't anything to distract them. It's much more of an exposed, vulnerable position to perform under. BTS, with Spring Day, show how versatile & technical they are. There performance is art in itself.

Their choreography and execution continually blow my mind. Spring Day needs a dramatic, theatrical piece. The story is horrific. The dance matches so eloquently without getting carried away! It is a pleasure to listen to you all break it down. This is certainly one of my top picks.

There is so much about this you guys should know to give the song and dance so much more context. If you know the story behind it, as well as the lyrics, it really gives the choreography so much more meaning. This song is one about missing someone. Not just about the fleeting pain of losing a gf or bf, but about losing someone and feeling the heartrending pain of knowing you’ll never see them again. The video and song pay tribute to the Sewol Ferry Disaster in Korea, where hundreds (mostly schoolchildren) died. Many of the losses could’ve been prevented and it was only worsened by government coverups, false news coverage, and most of the crew of the ship abandoning the young passengers to escape themselves. What happened is an awful and completely preventable tragedy. BTS used the song and video to pay homage to the ones whose lives were lost, the ones who made it and have to feel the loss forever, and all of Korea who mourn. The song has never left the Korean music charts since it was released in 2017. And yes, Jimin is a contemporary dancer. He went to school for it.

I don't know if you saw but in the beginning one member was sitting on the floor and the others came running on both sides almost like waves and he disappeared with them, then in the end the same member was on the floor and another one came to hug him. That's my favorite part of this choreography 😭😭😭😭 this song is about missing a friend or loved one and it's also about a tragic even that took place in SK there's a very informative video explaining the song and music video. After knowing the background of everything, this choreography can bring you to tears. 💜

The song is incredibly sad because it’s about a true event in which hundreds of high school students drown due to negligence of the adults in charge and telling them to not leave the sinking boat and then the Korean government at the time tried to cover up what actually happened leaving the parents of these children having no idea why their children were truly dead. Its heartbreaking.

I love how you guys reviewed this. You also brought up a point that struck me as so true which I never thought of before but rather felt it. You hit the nail on the head when you guys said that a group might dance perfectly and in sync but if they dont have chemistry it would fall flat. And that is what makes BTS dance performances so enjoyable - not only are they very good dancers, their ability to make you feel the song through their dance, their group chemistry makes it all so good and more enjoyable as compared to other groups who may dance just as well. Its the same with singing. One can sing technically perfect but if they cant make the listener feel the emotions behind it, the song would fall flat. Thanks for the analysis!

J-Hope is the dance leader and he has been a b-boy since he was a teenager. He was in a group called Nexus that won many awards. Jimin on the other hand started at the age of 9 as a martial arts kid then in middle school trained as a b-boy. He went to an arts high school and studied contemporary dance and graduated with the highest marks, his teacher in fact recommended he go to try out for Big Hit. Jungkook the middle one was sent to America to learn to dance with feeling. That is the 3 Js and the dance line to begin with but the rest of the group was trained after they became a group to dance as close as they could to the dance line. I think you would love to see their concept trailer and their intro performance trailer. It was at the beginning of their career so 8 yrs ago and 6 yrs ago but well worth the look. It shows how much they were first known for their dancing.

@@loidforgerswife736 I know that Tae has learned to dance with the other guys and he has gotten very good but you have to admit if you are putting him in the dance line then you need to put Suga in for his Kid&Play that he did at MMA 2018 and then you would need to add RM & Jin because they have worked so hard to learn the dances so much so that in the MMA in 2020 it was hard to tell who was in the dance line and who wasn't.

Hey guys, this is a very dramatic song. The real meaning is hearbreaking. It's about a boat accident. You now in Corea, the young'lings must listen to the older people. And when the boat was sinking the older peolpe go of the boat and they told the youngest to wait and keep in their place. In 2014, The New York Times rote, a South Korean ferry sank and more than 100 occupants died, the majority of which were high school students who "obeyed orders to stay in their cabins as the boat was going down," Esquire reported. After the disaster, which was reportedly caused by a "sharp right turn" of a ship that had been "poorly inspected" and was "overloaded," "the South Korean government actively tried to silence entertainers who spoke out against it," as per Esquire. However, many fans have speculated that the music video for "Spring Day" alludes to the tragedy. The also mention the film the snow piercing. The movie also goes of the different ranks in the population. From poor( in the back of the train) to the rich (in the front of the train) And the back must follow the front, and listen to them. It's about missing your beloved ones your friends..... Much love from an ARMY

I love that one of the first things you mention is how difficult it is to stand in a choreography. It is not only the fact of the anticipation that it generates and it is also that you have to be absolutely still, not even the look in your eyes can change because that affects the presence that the choreographer seeks.

Great reaction! But you will appreciate more of their dance choreos if you know the meaning behind their songs. Because their music has story. Their songs speak about mental issues, loving yourself, it's ok to fail, dream beyond the expectations of society, about pain, life goes on even with the pandemic and a lot more. They have inputs in their songs, be it in lyrics, dance choreo and music production. Their choreo depends on their songs. It's not about how hard or how simple their dance choreo because it depends on what the particular song is trying to convey. And their music is not sticking to one genre. This particular song in this dance practice is kind the alluded to the Sewol Ferry tragedy because of how their MV portrayed which really commemorates the memory of the students who died during the tragedy.

The song is meaningful and had purpose so this choreo is a integral part for the performance as a whole. Like you mentioned, the movement has purpose the same is true with the music prod has purpose, the lyrics has purpose, the mv has purpose. This is one of the most beautiful songs BTS has made so I highly suggest you guys watch the mv AND the spring day explained video even on your own time. The dance tells a story, like you said, aren't you curious what they're sharing with you? 😊 It's worth your time. Remember spring day MV and explanation video to understand the cultural references. There's a shorter one but the one that's in Italian is more in depth. 😊 Thanks for reacting

I love watching your reactions. I believe you will also enjoy BTS' "Danger" and "Bapsae" dance practices and "Let Go" and "Best of Me" Live performances choreographies.

If you liked this style from BTS, you should check out their 'Black Swan' dance practice, which also incorporates contemporary aspects.

Stutter. I have to commend your understanding. Most people want to speak over a stutter, but y'all are obviously good friends who know he has something powerful to say so just wait. Thank you. PS I've noticed this in several of your reactions and Every time I am grateful, have wanted to comment. When my loved one stutters I just wait, honoring his tenacity to let his voice be known.

I haven’t read through all the comments but did read comments about the ferry disaster. The official mv is nothing like this practice. It doesn’t contain much dancing. It’s so full of symbolism, and references to that disaster. It breaks my heart every time I watch it.
