Love the fact that Bowie saw this and apparently he thought it was brilliant. When working on Blackstar, guitarist Ben Monder said David thought it was hilarious and made everyone watch it.
@Schmedricks Жыл бұрын
Unless this is not the original video, this was posted on January 12th 2016. Bowie died on the 10th of January 2016, and Blackstar was released on the 8th. I'd imagine it's true though since the Ben Monder story seems difficult to pull out of thin air, would be interesting to see where it first came from.

No it's not because it's just a cheap ripoff of the original musicless video by Mario Wienerroither (the one with half has many views).
@gunsofbrixton71479 ай бұрын
@@gregor1O1 Maybe a bit like how "Queen Bitch" and "It's No Game" swiped the riff and a line from Eddie Cochran's "3 Steps to Heaven", and some people don't know it, others think Ronson/Bowie improved or added to it, and still others like Cochran better, or neither, or both. Your negation of this one does not promote the other; people will probably not be influenced to watch the other just to equalise views. Venture to guess David's "Wild is the Wind" made more money than the original by Nina Simone, but that doesn't mean his should be disparaged, or that there weren't people who went and bought a Nina Simone record after hearing Station to Station. etc.

*I've no idea who this video is aimed at age-wise, but every now and then over the years, me and my dad (who is 81-years-old now), just sit and watch it, and laugh and laugh until we're both hurting and aching with laughing so hard. It's just so childish and yet one of the funniest things either of us has ever seen.* *What makes it even funnier somehow, is that I've been a record producer for 30 years, and my dad is a retired Chief Superintendent from the Met police in London. Neither of us SHOULD find this video hilarious... but we just do! LOL. If it's not won some kind of award, it damn well should have. Absolutely brilliant!*

2:13 Bowie's spirit hands with the slow monster growl is just incredible. Hu-freakin-larious. I've watched it 5 times now and I laugh every time!

Almost as cringworthy as David Bowie and Bing Crosby's "LIttle Drummer Boy". I remember watching both of these World Premiere's back in the day going WTF?

Actually had to catch my breath after laughing so hard at this. The voices were totally unexpected yet perfect and perfectly silly. Then I was surprised by the crickets. Then the gunshots. Then the grunting. This is a masterpiece. A strange, bizarre masterpiece!

After all these years, I only just understood this video. So Bowie was sleeping, Jagger called him up to go dancing, and Bowie in his haste only had time to throw a trench-coat over the top of his PJ's.

Just came back after a year, and it STILL never fails to give me the most fun case of the giggles. Such a simple concept, but executed to perfection, which makes it genius comedy.
