Welcome back dear friends, to my wood carving workshop. In this video, I show you how I make this little automaton, where mushrooms dance in a circle, in a starry night inside a forest. this is the first job I've done with a laser engraver, and I'm very satisfied with the final result.

When I saw your wood spirit in a tree I went straight to my workshop and made one for my grandson. Then I was completely taken by your “hair in the wind” automata so I made one of those too, one for my daughter and one for me. I hope you don’t mind. Now I see that I might have to learn how to use a laser cutter because this one is even better! Thank you so much for showing me and others what can be achieved. Best regards from Kim in Tasmania

The box is quite beautiful! I wonder if you could fit a little music box in there for the mushrooms to dance to. And you have very steady hands when painting the little faces. Thanks for showing us your new toy!

It changes the look of your work, that’s true, but every new tool opens up new possibilities. If those gears would always be a big nope-out to carve by hand (and it certainly seems like they would be!) then a tool that makes them so much easier is a good one. You’re smart to use it to open up new possibilities for yourself! Those little guys are adorable.

I really enjoy this design ! This is the first time I have ever seen a laser cutting machine. I also saw how I could sand my fingers on your sander, but don't worry I didn't bleed on it because i just glued them together with that tiny glue.😊 Not a problem my work will be larger and simpler. Wonderful! The laser machine is marvellous but can only be as good as the great designs you put in. I do so worry about your fingers though!😅 Have you ever thought of somehow incorporating one of those little wind up music box mechanisms that play when you turn the handle?

I just found your designs and I am amazed by your creativity. This is awesome! Would you be willing to sell your design/template for the cogwheels? I want to build something similar but I am not good enough yet to make the cogwheels on my own.
