For those wondering, unaware, or haven’t heard about the part at 3:16, there was an incident a few months ago involving three pranksters making a video about them licking a bottle of soy sauce at a sushi restaurant

The solo dining booths allow each person to fully immerse themselves in the experience and enjoy the flavor of the food itself without any outside distractions. In some instances, I'd rather go to a place like this during lunchtime instead of a crowded restaurant where you have to listen to annoying loud conversations from ppl sitting next to you. This is a relaxing, yet introverted dining respite. What a fantastic idea!

the paper at 10:29 has some funny text that isn't fully translated "However, our company representive was persistent in saying 'What if the toilet paper runs out anyway and inconveniences our customers?', so we've prepared a secret weapon. *In the small chance that the toilet paper runs out, rip this paper.*" (referring to the notice itself)

This is an introvert dream. I don't mind having to talk to order but it's nice that they have all the options in case you don't. Maybe you're just on a bad day, you don't want to talk much. Also the individual booth with the curtains is just... I can understand it can be claustrophobic for social people but for introverts it's just amazing. Absolutely no distractions!

After a 10 hours shift, time to enjoy some relaxing food videos!

From a service perspective, it's nice being able to just focus on crafting the best possible meals without having to do as much on the service end! A real win-win.

Japan is a really introverted country and its so refreshing and probably like a safe haven for some introverts. A place like this is so considerate. I can't wait to try this out in Japan.

Thank you for this video. I’ve seen a few KZfaq videos set in various Ichiran locations, including this one, but none of them made me a part of the experience, from standing in line, to the instructions and visuals, to the new touch-screens for ordering. You never take anything for granted in your videos and answer so many unasked questions; in how you film and present what you’re experiencing to all of us, to the overlooked details and customs that someone living in a culture might take for granted when communicating with those not from that culture. I've seen other videos of Ichiran but they didn't go into as much detail or show the wooden blocks (I was very curious about those when I saw them in another video). DB's attention to detail (and willingness to order all the items on the menu) is perfect. And all the toilet rolls made me laugh 😂

At first, I was confused by the prospect of a "vending machine restaurant" but that's actually really cool. Nice to see a place that's very considerate for people's social anxiety and/or shyness. Helps that the food also looks awesome.

I've only ever been to the Ichiran in New York (Times Square), it was okay;. The friend I went with has been to several in Japan and the Causeway Bay Hong Kong one and was clearly disappointed in the US version.

One of the main reasons for me to travel to Japan is for the amazing food I always see

I love those blocks! I am diagnosed with anxiety/social anxiety and I usually need someone to talk for me or to come with me somewhere.

I hate being stuck here in Serbia.... I spent around three years in China and fell in love with Udon noodles, noodles in general, dumplings of all kinds. I even had Ramen at a Japanese restaurant there. :'( I miss all that.......

My social anxiety makes it so so hard to wanna go and eat out!!! I wished more restaurants had options like these!!!

So, some quick questions: What is happens if you place the “it’s noisy” helping block on the table? Are they able to move you to a different location or … ? Is social anxiety a major concern there and is it possibly due to the very-close proximity people live in with each other? Are long lines or wait times normal for most restaurants, or is this more the case with popular or tourist locations? Truly a dream!! I hate going to restaurants by myself, I get super awkward and it totally ruins the experience for me. My back starts to hurt from turning around to see people staring at me and because weirdly enough, I forget how to sit straight I start to stress out

I went to this exact restaurant when I was on vacation in Japan 7 months ago. It's in Dotomburi in Osaka. It was quite good, but not the best ramen I've had. I did love the private booths, they felt comfortable and fun.

Man, I wish I could travel East Asia and try all this type of food

This is as close to the real experience I will get but I tell you if I could move to a small Japanese village, tend to my garden and then go have ramen everyday and lunch by the river yeah I'd be a very happy man ☺ this looks wonderful. I have really severe social anxiety but I do love going to have a nice meal by myself, I'd love to have one of these places in the states.

The kind of restaurant i like, no eye contact, no need to speak and to freely choose what i want on my meal.

This makes me want to try Ichiran ramen, but here in the US it's only available in a few grocery stores.

to be honest guys, as an introvert person, i really like this place. i will enjoy the food by myself. also, if i have an extra money, not only the ramen i will order, maybe some other menu there. its a heaven to all introvert person.

Those communication sign blocks would be my dream! I get so anxious talking to people I don't know (yet I'm so talkative around well known friends and family and my boyfriend so no one would dream I'm like it)... I stumble and get afraid to ask. So I'd love for them to be a thing here in England!

Looks almost identical to the booths you sit at when doing food testing at the Oregon State University food research center here in Portland. You never see anything but the hands and arms as they put the food in front of you. Then you use a terminal and answer responses about the food quality etc. Only difference is they have a sliding door instead.

I love how in some East Asian countries you can use transport fare cards at vending machines, convenience stores and so on. I guess it will soon be outdated once all transport fares are paid with our phones, but it was such a good idea.

One of the best memories I have about visiting Japan was getting to eat at an Ichiran, the machine was still buttons and not LCD so if anything it was the OG experience, I want to go back so bad, loved every second of it, it was was easy to learn the concept of ordering as well as getting service without the need of actually interacting. The food was just soooo good. Anyone who visits Japan should have an Ichiran planned for the trip no matter the case !!!!

I will give it to this guy, I have only seen a few of his videos, but in each one he eats enough for 3 people haha love it I have a large appetite too sometimes.
