A machine that turns liquid soda in frozen slushy before your very eyes!
Пікірлер: 575
@CarlGorn4 ай бұрын
Pretty sure the cooler was set to just above freezing. Tipping it upside-down releases carbonation to keep enough pressure, the machine is a small anti-griddle, aka a cold plate, meant to drain just a little more heat out of the liquid. At that point, the pressure is what's keeping it from freezing. Once you crack the top, the pressure is released and the ice crystals start to form.

For anyone who wants to try this, you can do this at home. If you set a drink in the freezer for several hours and avoid moving it or jostling it at all, it may go into a supercooled state - the temp of the liquid has dropped below freezing, but it hasn't actually become ice yet. To activate the freezing process, simply tap the bottle on something. And now you have a slush! Works for bottled water too, but it has to be pretty pure, tap water won't work.

Could u tell exact like how many hours to put in the freezer?
@KingWoop723 ай бұрын
@@raged5903 It unfortunately varies depending on your freezer, due to temperature differences in make, model, setting, and even individual unit (sorta like how some ovens can run hotter or colder than their display and internal gauge says, with no 2 ovens able to truly hit the exact same temp at the same setting, even if identical models)

@raged5903 put a cold bottle from your refrigerator into the freezer directly in front of the vent where the cold air comes from for about 25 to 30 minutes then very carefully remove it from the freezer without shaking it then give it a good smack to watch it instantly freeze up into slush.

The median price for a home is $299,000 (a fixer-upper type), for a vehicle is $35,000 (most likely preowned/ used)...and if you plan to pay rent, you'll be out-of-pocket $2799 a month before 'utility' bills (also, if you plan to rent an apartment you have to make at least three-times the monthly rent payment to qualify for said apartment). Also, a burger with fries and a drink is now $30, groceries for a month will put you back about $890 (depending on where you shop), and to fill-up the tank of gas in your car it will cost you $4.69 a gallon. So...if you make $1000 a month, you'll be on the street, living in the sewers and eating out of the dumpsters.

Just put the coke in the Freezer BUT take it out before it starts to freeze up. You want it at the Edge of Freezing to make it work. If you go to some countries you will see a machine in icy water swishing back a forth glass soda bottles. This will do the same thing. The swishing just prevent ice from forming inside.

The bottles in the fridge are supercooled. It just means that if not disturbed the ice does not form. The light contraption she put the bottle in is there for no reason at all unless it vibrates. As she turned the bottle upside down and back up again, that started the process. The water in the drinks is very pure so needs to be kickstarted into freezing. Normally impurities in the water help seed the crystallisation of ice.

I’m pretty sure the sodas are already chilled past the point of freezing, and the ‘machine’ instructions are just to make you trigger the crystallization, and wait long enough that the soda doesn’t explode everywhere when you do open it.
@BreathlessBreathing4 ай бұрын
Nah, there'd be lots of condensation on the bottle and the reaction only happens when opened.
@johncebasek62524 ай бұрын
@AngelOneiors: Your right about the sodas (pop here in Canada). It's called super freezing. The sodas are chilled slightly below the freezing point, but because the bottle is perfectly smooth, the chilled pop can stay in liquid form. The machine shakes the bottle, which causes the ice crystals to form and turn the pop into a slushy. I'm sure the web has a better description (Google super freezing), so this is just my 25 words or less version.

From what I know, the machine do absolutely nothing : You can do the same thing in your own fridge, you shake your coke bottle a little without opening it, then put it in the freezer for a certain amount of time (it depends of the size of the bottle obviously). When you got it out, the soda should be still liquid, but below the freezing point, so when you shake it again even a little then open it, the liquid is gonna turn into ice slushy. As some people has pointed, the machine is a gimmick to make you wait enough time before opening the bottle so that you won't have an eruption of soda right away.
@1BergerVongSchlauigkeitHer4 ай бұрын
It's already "frozen" in the fridge and the machine triggers nucleation.
@furrymessiah4 ай бұрын
The temperature of the freezer is set so that the soda is supercooled. As the interior of the bottle is smooth, there are no nucleation points that would cause the soda to turn into ice. The device they put the drink on is an ultrasonic vibratory plate. When it's turned on, it creates microbubbles from the carbonation. When the bottle is opened, those bubbles release, creating nucleation points for the ice to form. And because the formation of ice releases heat, it turns into slush instead of becoming a solid chunk. Coincidentally, you can do the same thing in your home freezer with a bottle of distilled water or beer. There's instructions on the Popular Mechanics website.
@Emeraldwitch304 ай бұрын
