The, supes can only die being struck by magic only if he's fighting a deity (or similar in power). Other beings that'll give supes a try with other power manifestations, such as super strength, heat vision... etc, will just provoque him to unleash more power (considering that he doesn't use more than 10%), and that wouldn't be nice... supes can't die easily. DC's heroes and villains are known to be god-like beings (some, not all), making a general comparison with Marvel would be a mistake. I'm not saying that supes is invincible, just saying that Superman always holds back using only a little percentage of his power, we're not sure of what he's capable yet (HE REALLY NEVER SHOWS HIS REAL POWER).

Depending on the character, being unstoppable is a defeat. For others, being unstoppable, but unable to change or save others is worse than losing a fight. For even a god, being unable to be genuinely loved for more than your power is the greatest struggle. So much so that they can only feel contempt for their subjects. So in a sense, yes, every character can be defeated. But that's only if defeat goes beyond physical challenges for you.
