Julian still rips and marzo still an elastic radical rain man in surfing, but in terms of progression the "hippie" Dane has progressed quite farther than either of the two mentioned before (as much as it pains me to admit, since clays my favorite surfer). Al is an old shaper . Curran was on him over 20 years ago and shapes have adapted to a new line with the new styles . As with most riders I went with a slew of shapers looking for magic . And yes Al was one of them . I settled in on Jay Richardson for several years who had worked under Aipa before moving on . Ive noticed a ton of pop outs now using old Merrick shapes . Funny stuff .
