Learned about this helping my dad load/unload his boat from a trailer in the 70's. It's the same winch and there's no telling how arm/hands/fingers those things have busted. Not everything is as easy as we make them look.

Ouch. Thanks for learning for me man. I’m looking into getting one to help feed our cattle.

We have had our Greg Judy bale unroller since 2016. We feed 150 animals with in the winter. The best piece of equipment we own. We dont own a tractor or have a truck with a bale bed. We pull the cart with a Yamaha Kodiak 700 atv. We are in Missouri in the south central Ozarks. You can take the hook off the ring when the bale is all the way up. Then just flop it over. No winching needed to lower the bale. When we unroll a bale the hook is not attached to the ring. The hook and strap are wound back into the winch.

Thanks for the tip! I got caught lowering a partial bale with cold wet gloves 😬

Ouch! I'm cringing just hearing this, I know exactly what you mean about how fast that handle comes at you when you hit the release.

You said it brother! Live and learn (sometimes the hard way 😜)

Dumb question While the thing is spinning. Why did you put your hand in the way? & then do it again with the other hand?

😜 Well that's not exactly the way it happened. With cold hands wet gloves the handle slipped out of my hand and whipped around in an instant before I could get out of the way.
