@@MaeKO123 no it doesn't. A dog that's been bred for generations to hunt will have a strong prey drive especially if it's purebred. A watered mix won't have those traits. Nothing to do with training.

@@dogfather2320 Again, prey drive and liking chasing stuff, very different things, haviong an actual prey drive is very uncommon for both Malis and GSDs, I am talking prey drive like Czechsolovakian wolfdog or Siberian laika sort of prey drive, not a dog liking to chase cats. If you tell me you can train those out of those breeds or a rare occation of GSD or Mali having a prey drive then I would just have to say you never seen prey drive in action.

Cats are smart. They read the person's energy as well as the dogs. Have a stray that wonders the woods behind my house. Will just step out when I take my pitbull out. He'd kill it if he got the chance, but I keep him under control. Cat knows he isn't a threat and just walks by slowly. Sometimes stops and taunts him. 😆

If a service animal of all things behaves like that it is fake and the owner of ANY dog behaving like that, who does not attempt to correct that behavior, shouldn't own a dog. Hell, there was even a service dog (a German shepherd,) who had been brought to a groomer and that asshole groomer broke the dogs tail during a bath and the dog just cried and tried to move away, he didn't show ANY signs of aggression, even when his tail was snapped in half.

The cat is smart enough to understand the dog is on a leash. The dog is curious not aggressive but he obviously needs training to not chase cats. My dogs are so gentle they won't even look at a bird or squirrel and are well mannered with cats especially thanks to my late siamese that taught them manners and boundaries as puppies. They never even reacted to seeing horses the first time they just ignore them like they aren't there. They are Aussies though so they are so easy if you understand them similar to the border collies I had but more laid back. They somehow just know right and wrong even without being told. Example if someone walks outside my fence they are quiet and only watch but if a stranger opens the gate and comes onto the property they bark and get crazy. They were never taught that they just decided it themselves lol.
