Miss Catherine seems perfect for the job. Her extensive knowledge and experience definitely helps with this situation. I just pray this ends the problem. But I’m afraid where’s there’s one coyote there’s a whole pack of them😳. I couldn’t not stand it if a coyote gets one of our Cog Hill babies🥺

Did the Great Pyrenees NOT signal? Get another GP and they will take care of this. The donkey and Emu and Rocky and Bandit will soon be big enough. Some people use llamas and large donkeys for predator control and they work well. However, I think placement of dogs with the other animals is important....Great Pyrenees are spectacular for permimeter patrol....

I have a taco bell Chihuahua. He's a little larger than the average Chihuahua. He has bionic ears and his backup is a pitbull. If the coyotes are close I'll go out there with the stainless steel trash can top and bang it with the small pipe.

I would think that this would be an ideal time for the LGD pups to see the coyote before you release him. I'd put them on a long lead and get their noses full of his scent. Sunny may need a refresher course, too.

Why is it you can’t imagine being kind to a coyote? Just like you and I, coyotes are just trying to survive. They don’t understand land boundaries, especially since humans have encroached & ran them off from their natural habitats with pollution & constant development of their homes & habitat. If you release a predator on your property after you have trapped it, all you have done is educate the predator to avoid traps in the future. As long as the predator knows there is a food source on your property, it WILL come back, but it will be a lot harder to trap.

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤ for doing this in a humane way! There are other homesteaders on this platform that see nothing wrong with setting a bear trap for a coyote or a fox. They then see nothing wrong with the fact that the animal is then so maimed that its limb is about to fall off! So, sincerely, thank you for understanding that this animal is just doing what comes natural to it and trying to scare it off in a humane fashion! ❤

Nice to know there are people out there willing to take the time to educate us to more humane options in predator control. When the coyote bounty-rewards program hit Idaho in the late '70s, it was so successful that there was a huge boom in the wild rabbit population due to lack of predator population. Don't know if anyone recalls the Mud Lake Idaho Rabbit Roundup (aka Bunny Bash).

The coyote & bobcats are looking to survive not punish the farmer & her animals. They will not forget being trapped and released by some really scary farmers. Such an important service Katherine is providing. I wonder if walking all the dogs along the fence line to mark territory could help? The symbol '&' is called an ampersand. I hope this works but I doubt it. I think you're going to be having problems. Because where there's one there going to be a lot more. Mine was so bad they were like fifty feet from the barn where the cow was having her baby,so I had to get her in the barn and stay with her all night and stay until the calf was up walk around and strong enough. Eventually I had to get a hunter out here and that took care of the problem. What after neighbors cats and one of mine was taken right by the house. The coyotes getting so daring my girlfriend has one that's coming up broad daylight trying to get their dogs. If I get a chance I'll send you a picture of one that she has a picture of. But I hope that lady trying to trap yours works. Oh I feel so bad for your animals. I sure learned a lot about a trapping seeing that video..(please be safe)
