鉄道大国の日本でも踏切事故はありますが、日本の交通ルールでは、踏切通過の時は、一旦停止して左右を確認してから通過します。 あと、映像の中で遮断機のバーが降りてくる前に列車が来てしまうノがありますが、これは鉄道の方の設備が壊れてますね。

Those slow controlled experiments when the train hits the car are a joke. They’re not realistic in showing the real results of a train hitting a car. The trains are going much faster and hit harder, thus giving the drivers(the cars) a false sense of security thinking that when the train hits me it’s not going to be damaging.

Most truck / train accidents happen in US because of disregard of warning lights or much too short time between closing and train arrival. It's all drivers' fault. Just compare to other countries. Here in Germany this generally is no problem.
