Dangerous Winter Drive to Spiti Himalayas

In this video, we take you on a winter drive to Spiti through heavy snowfall - on black ice and snow - on a two wheel drive car with no snow chains. Just the way locals do it.
This is no adventure here. This is how the locals travel to Spiti in the winter months. The Sumo Taxies are pretty regular provided the roads are not closed due to some major avalanche or landslide

Spiti is as beautiful in winter as it is summer. Nature shows her in color as well as black and white :) Epic video! Would have been more fun watching this if shot in 4K. Maybe expecting too much :)

Are there locals helping all along the road or only at certain places? There was a yellow tube? at the left fender and then it was removed, was it an edge locator? That road looks difficult enough during the summer but in winter Yikes!

Tsering Bodh... If i am not wrong he is the owner of Sakya Abode in Kaza.. stayed there for 2 nights in October 2015. Love Spiti Valley.... been there twice in 2015

Not a good time as everything is frozen and dry. You can visit but expect no luxury. Roads are open via Kinnaur

You can if the weather is clear. It'll still be quite an adventure. Wear proper gear and avoid if it snow. Also, beware of BLACK ICE also don't do it alone at that time of the year.
