046 Introduction to GitHub Actions

Күн бұрынToday I introduce the brand new feature of GitHub: Actions. This capability provides a testing framework (similar to GitLab CI) for your GitHub projects. In this video I show you how to create a simple build-run workflow for your project. I also discuss the shared action capability which a very cool feature of the framework.

Minor correction near 8:00, the newest commits are at the bottom, not the top of the list.

is there any way to know if the merge to master will fail the action before you do the merge?

Not in the basic workflow I've created here. It appears you can configure your workflow to test the merged state instead of the tip of the source branch by using the pull_request trigger instead of the push trigger.
