Danheim

4 жыл бұрын

Before there was soil, sky or any green thing,
there was only the gaping abyss of Ginnungagap.
Frost from Niflheim and billowing flames from Muspelheim crept toward each other until they met in Ginnungagap.
Amid the hissing and sputtering, the fire melted the ice, and the drops formed themselves into Ymir

Ár var alda þar er Ýmir bygði
Ór Ymis holdi var jörð of sköpuð
Ór Ymis holdi var jörð of sköpuð
Ginnungagap, Niflheim, Muspelheim.
Ild, is, dråber falder.
Ymir, Jotun, skaber aser.

@@509Gmanit's commonly believed he's a avatar of Shor much like the theory that the Last Dragonborn is as well. When you are recognized as Dragonborn the Greybeards name you Ysmir now. Gods are capable of being replaced by a mortal who will grow to become and always have been said god. It's entirely possibly, and likely that Talos and Shor are indeed the same entity who is originally Lorkahn.

Theres nothing like a danhaim track during the days of yuletide to give you a feeling of bigger connection to the world. This is coming from a CELT, someone who worships a completely different pantheon to the vikings, but even so, this is such incredible beautiful music for pagan ears. I'm so glad that these aren't separate tracks, as some have said they'd prefer. The first bit Gealdýr sang to my soul in a way that I haven't felt in a while from a vocal artist. And then it transitions so effortlessly into such an awesome rhythmical production with that amazing deep vocal that rides the percussion like a wave. Keep it up guys! No other artists in this style are producing the sheer amount of quality music that you are! I never get bored with your discogs.

Im lucky to have tracked my family name back to understand where my ancestors originated from. When I listen to nordic music I feel things I find hard to explain but I'll try, it's a sense of power and deep to the point I can harness either the anger or pain to push myself to do anything I set my mind to. Dunno what most people do but I meditate to anciant Nordic music to feel the blood of my ancestors and to give me strength to servive. I respect the strength I recive I also talk to the god's for guidance never forget the god's.

I love the almost fatally circular quality of this song, - the circularity of the beginning and the end oddly reflects the Ring- themed outlook of Norse poems and songs. At once this song could be brooding and intensely tribal, but then- totally liberating as if we are wisped away in a gust of wind on a clear winter day. Gealdýr's voice and your storytelling really takes my imagination away and make me want to read up more about Norse culture. Thank you and I am deeply interested in any music you guys will make in the future. Because of music like this I am glad for the state of traditional/ tribal music today. *Skål*

Also the "monster is killed and from its body parts the world was created". There are two main theories to explain the similarities between the mythologies of so many differenr cultures. First one is the archetypes. It stablishes that there are certain ideas and concepts ingrained into the human mind, a from these humans from all over the world built their myths. Second one, which name I have forgotten, establishes that at one point there was an "original religion" and as we human spread all over the world and divided into smaller groups and different cultures developed so were these stories changed to fit a new cultural context.
