He got it later for "Lincoln". But I agree that his performance in "There Will Be Blood" would have deserved a standing ovation even more.
@AcademyAwardsPerson10 жыл бұрын
I think the audience was really lazy that year. No one got a standing ovation. Maybe it had something to do with the writers strike; everything was austere and toned down. And ever since this ceremony, everyone seems to get a standing ovation: Octavia Spencer, Mo'nique, Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock..
@Danny-is5if10 жыл бұрын
He doesn't need a standing ovation, everyone who has seen his movies will all agree that hes the best actor of all time, bar none. I can't even describe it, when I saw what he actually looked like after watching Gangs of New York I was confused and thought there was another Daniel Day Lewis, hes just that good. Nominees for an Oscar would be lucky if he doesn't make a movie in that year.

Viggo Mortensen's performance would have won in any other year. Quite unluckily, DDL gave the best performance of the last 25 years right in 2007...

Roberto Ruggio I'm very happy DDL won that year, because of obvious reasons (man is a complete genius, TWBB is gold), but I am a big amirer of Viggo and I absolutely loved him in Eastern Promises! Great movie too. Man, wouldn't that be great, to see the day when Viggo wins an Oscar? Im sure DDL would love that too (go see Red Carpet interview DDL/Viggo M)

I'm so glad they played one of the best songs from the soundtrack while he was walking up. That whole score is phenomenal!

It's so amazing, astounding, how different Daniel Day Lewis is from the characters he plays. Some great actors often take something from themselves to embody a character. They pull something they can relate to. Daniel just becomes someone else. It's incredible. Such a beauty. Such a legend. We're all lucky to be able to watch him act!!

One of the best years for acting Oscars. Day-Lewis, Cotillard, Swinton and Bardem are some of the most powerful actors alive. To see them celebrated in a single year was so great.

Helen Mirren by far the best presenter of Daniel Day Lewis's Oscar. She is talented and gorgeous in equal measure.

Can tell what a great actor he is in real life he is somewhat shy and self effacing but has played theses ferocious larger than life characters.
