That was an amazing interview. On national broadcasts the sideline reporters always has a corny joke or their energy feels too forced, but this guy made it seem so natural despite his first time talking to these players most likely.

This team is like the anti-meta team of the NBA. Not as many big names as some other teams but has the tools to guard the big names, all while having an extremely efficient offense. Reminds me of the 2018 rockets that almost beat the warriors.

I been seeing how Gafford plays since the Wizards. Been saying, "man if only he got a facilitator, he gonna be scary." Players like that, all they need is a point guard and it's over. And it showed today. It's like Amare to Steve Nash, Kenyon Martin to Jason Kidd. The Mavericks is a problem now. 🤦

For Kawhi and lebron it might work out. But the shifty guys like ant and booker they are just not quick enough. In KD's case you have to have a pretty great combination of length, strength, and quickness to bother him. In Jokic's case they definitely don't have the size to bother him.

to answer your question, YES, they will be useful. as a mavs fan, my only concern is the clippers and the nuggets. other than them, mavs can beat any team now in a 7 game series. luka and kyrie weren't even aggressive in this game.

With health, there isn't a team in the NBA that wants to see this team in the playoffs. They are legit contenders, right now, and have the core of this team locked up for the next three playoffs runs. You have to go back to the 80's to find a Mavs team with this much youth, depth & athleticism. Nico has completely rebuilt this team in 12 months.
