Nope! I don't think so. In fact I always had a strong suspect about him possibly being Asperger, don't you? So, I think it's more like he's into some kind of stimming, yup, that's very typical in Autistic/Asperger people (although by now Asperger is just considered as Autistic level 1(levels refers to levels of support that are needed). I mean, it seemed like he: - Always struggled around maintenance of typically spected social relationships, reactions, etc. - Since Freak show, he was suffering from social anxiety; self isolation (by his own choice); unfunded fears (unfounded for neurotypical), something that really affected him (as happens with many Asperger), and things like that - More than once he was kind of little bothered because of even more little interruptions, have you noticed? (that means he's always aware at very tiny details around his environment, which is something very typical in autistic/Asperger people, I mean some frequently undetectable and ignored details for neurotypical persons) - Besides that, there's some things like small external stimuli that can easily distract them, as happens with Dan here and in another, even actual interviews, but in the other hand they can be hiperfocused into their interests, losing track if their surroundings (which I don't know if ever happened to Dan or not, but who knows) - He always use to release and calm down his anxiety on camera, those kind of "gestures" with his hands (that's called stimming in ASD) by nervous touchings around his eyes, his mouth or neck, (and I theorize like he was unconsciously trying to hide himself from camera as well) and it looks like those very frequent movement in his interviews really could calm him down; and in addition, in this particular interview he was into that "stimming" with his fingers too. BTW, that's something I use to do too when I get anxious talking in public (and I has suspect of being Asperger too, I'm in process to diagnose right now), once I even ended with my fingers bleeding. I resembled myself with Ana's song video XD). - Besides all of that, around 20% of Asperger people could have a great GREAT talent at some particular matter, even at the point of being considered geniuses (I don't need to explain that, we all know!) or at least (if that word is valid) with an privileged IQ, above the average. - And finally, he was diagnosed with PTSD, that diagnosis is very common in autistic/Asperger people too because of the struggles they had to manage during all their life trough their interactions with a world that can't understand them, that's not being supportive with them, and because this world is usually a very hostile environment for them at so many levels. Haven't you thought about that possibility as well, at least just once? or it was just me 👀 PS. that no one asked for: I have same feelings around Edward Furlong old teenage, young adult years interviews. And another coincidence, a very sad one in this case, both of them, Dan and Edward talent, being very underrated at their time 😔 I think they deserved more... And going farther, I think this world was effectively so mean with them, it should've been a lot more kind with them and with their great talent and high sensitivity, in so many ways. I feel bad for them, they shouldn't have passed through all that sh1t!

Regardless, I still really perceive his attitude more like some sort of stimming, but who knows... Anyway, I was wondering why many of you perceived it as dissociation. 👀 I would appreciate it if someone could explain me, please.

I keep wondering if he had his nose powdered often, lots of jerky motions and swing jaw in a lot of concerts…he looks trashed here, hard to tell if it’s his illness and exhaustion or drugs or both. Either way he’s adorable and I wish I could go back in time and hug him tight during this period. 😢❤

@@lorimulkey8423He had TMJ during the Neon Ballroom era. The jaw is neurologically connected to the stomachs as one can imagine i.e. both involved in eating food i.e. chewing food and breaking down food. It also holds a lot of stress e.g. we clench our jaw when stressed.

This is what a highly anxious person with a panic disorder looks like when they are in the middle of a disassociation which Daniel has talked at length about experiencing almost hourly around this time of his life. It's why he named his next band the dissociatives. Mental illness is a mean bitch to deal with this poor kid has been struggling since he was 16 years old

not stoned at all. Extremely anxious and more than likely dissociating. He was extremely frail around this time having just gotten out of the hospital to make "neon ballroom" after nearly dying from anorexia

@@taylorh4480 well now he did smoke weed tho, not sure when it started. I read from someone from Newcastle who said they knew the boys and they were always baked lol, who knows if it’s true or not, but he definitely had a lot of psychiatric meds on board here, he has said as much, those can make you pretty stoned depending on what it all was! Also consider all he was battling at this stage and drugs were always easily available for them if they wanted, it’s a wonder the boy survived.
