This man's music saved my life in my mid twenties. I thanked him for it. I had a custom made Casper the Friendly Ghost 5XLT t-shirt made for him. He got so happy when I gave it to him, and it made me so happy that he was happy I hugged him. I'm thankful for that.

I was friends with Danny back in the late 70s and early 80s before he moved to Texas. I used to sit next to him at his piano and he would play all these songs for me. I have known the words for years. I still have the tape he made for me. When I hear this I can picture his parents basement and the piano he played them on.I would try to follow along on my guitar. I loved him as a brother then and love him the same now. It makes me sad he has suffered so much.

I really love to think that Daniel goes back into a better time for him when ever he performs... To a happier place with less stress about his day to day life; where he just.... Lives....

Great song, and an epic swig of Mtn Dew at the end. RIP, Daniel.

@InNominus The thing that makes him enjoyable to watch is the realness that he exudes when he does these songs. And he's probably one of the worst musicians, but as a performer and a songwriter he's great. I know a lot of musicians who learn their instruments and can play amazing, but cannot write a song. But when I go to see someone perform, I like to see them give off that real feeling. And Daniel does that beautifully.

Hold me like a mother would Like I've always known somebody should, yeah, although tomorrow, it don't look that good Well, it just goes to show Though people say we're an unlikely couple I'm seeing double of you Oh, This is life And everything's all right Living living living living living living living life Oh, hope for the hopeless I'm learning to cope with the emotion-less mediocracy Oh. Day-to-day living I cannot help but be restless When everything seems so tasteless And all the colors seem to have faded away. Oh, This is life And everything's all right Living living living living living living living life Hold me like a mother would Like I've always known somebody should, yeah. although tomorrow, it don't look that good Well, it just goes to show Though people say we're an unlikely couple Doris Day, and Mott the Hoople Oh, This is life And everything's all right Living living living living living living living life

I missed a chance to see him in Denver on his last tour. Not because of work or could not buy a ticket... I just have no excuse. Now I'll miss his heart on his sleeve on stage.

@InNominus - it isn't about being good. it's about being honest in your art.

@InNominus,i dont see this a slap in the face to more acomplished musicians, what this shows is that you dont need to be a musical wizard to write amazing songs! And i would rather have the songs of daniel, rather than a bunch of musos who can play it all,but cant put a half decent tune together if it killed them.Performance wise how is it bad?

You People just don't know Daniel. You think you do but you don't. I know Daniel I was there before he made his acclaim. I don't see Daniel as a circus show.I see him as a struggling artist.
