Log throwing by far the funnest exercise i have ever done, hard to find something that's not repetitive, that varies with each rep, and this is it; aiming for something also makes a nice distraction if you're doing this for hours.

Something people forget is the event isn’t about the weight of the Caber While 160 lbs is definitely not light it’s actually below what most athletes deadlift or bench. The actual challenge and skill of the event comes from the fact that the length of the poll (as well as the bottom being lighter than the top)makes it an absolute bitch to balance well enough to throw it.

Wow! I'm, lol the "World Champion" of Caber Toss, on the Commodore 64, World Games, haha! Popped on to see it for real, and that's just AWESOME!!! Would LOVE to try that "for real", 'cept I only weigh about 130 pounds... Massive display of strength and balance-on the game, "getting started" is ridiculously difficult, and now I see exactly why they programmed it that way.

Perhaps the best basic sport for the ages.

He's only really tossing a small fraction of the weight of the caber, since he runs it forward a bit and lets it start tipping over before the toss. The really hard part would be the initial lift. Pheziks!

That's like a bag of spec mix mortar plus a a 12 cinder. I like how he threw it. Could land an injury carrying a cross bolt or trying to throw one. Best to wait till the Roman's lay you down and put the nails or screws in than to try and throw it.
