I agree with Daniel Popper. I don’t need to see us throwing the ball every play and running 1.8 yards per carry. I want us to pound the ball until the defensive line is bleeding from their eyes and they just want to go home to mommy. Then when they are softened up and the safteies and linebackers are up on the line of scrimmage Justin can use the play action and fire it downfield. That is what i want to see.

💯 Justin has been averaging 39 Pass attempts per game. That's more than Patricks 37 pass attempts or any quarterback. The successful teams are able to run the ball.

@@dark-boson3697 Either one would be good but I'm leaning towards Brock Bowers. It seems like the elite teams all have a dominant Tight End. George Kittle and Travis Kelce are a big part of their teams success.

It sounds like a blueprint of the Chiefs! They have Pacheco, who they drafted in the 7th rd to pound the ball & they have the best young defense in the league.

There are very few talented writers (at the actual writing part) in sports, and one of them is Popper. He's also insightful and knowledgable about football, and can speak very clearly and makes points succintly, which makes him really good at his job.

I don’t expect them to draft an OT in the 1st rd & JPJ’s stock has risen enough that he may get drafted in the 1st rd. Trading down would be ideal considering all the areas they need to address.

Thanks Daniel. I'm glad you put it out there so more of us fans get prepared for a couple possible ways to go. "Rip the bandaid", I agree is best but I'm waiting for Coaches decision. The past yearshave been so frustrating and I for 1, fan since the late 70' am hyped and Harbaugh gets open ticket from me.

So often I see people speculate that they will draft an OT in the first two rounds to replace Pipkins but then NOBODY EVER addresses how the Chargers will deal with Pipkins contract. Pipkins contract make cutting him impossible and I seriously doubt they put Pipkins on the bench with how big his cap hit is, especially in the current cap situation. My prediction is they won't draft OT in rounds 1-3. I like Pop, but with all due respect, I think he's way off on his OT prediction.

You’re 100% right wrt Pipkins and his contract. And just to be clear, Popper predicted OL in the first two rounds, not necessarily OT. Thanks for tuning in!

@@ambermchugh9381The Rams were way over the cap last year I believe it was worse than us. They traded Jalen Ramsey and let go of some good players. They went 10-7 because they drafted well. Puka Nacua, Byron Young and Steve Avila.

I agree with Popper that we take an offensive lineman in first two rounds. I say take the best center round 2 and Bowers round 1. There is no way you ever find a Brock Bowers again and Herbert desperately needs a game changing Tight End as that is what this league is all about. Tight end also helps along the Line.

I totally get & appreciate Popper's take on giving Harbaugh patience, and I'm usually one to preach the same, however, one weakness coaches in general make and Harbaugh specifically we've seen in his stops, is that coaches like "their guy" over the guy that has shown innovation & excellence in their area of expertise. Being high on Harbaugh and simultaneously being worried about a Roman led offense is a reasonable opinion.

2 draft takes: 1. Chargers should trade back (plenty of teams are gonna want a swing at QB, trading back this year should be doable). 2. No RB will be drafted top 50. If the Chargers took 1 in the 3rd (oh. God, please, no), it would be very likely that guy would be RB1 in the draft.

I’m telling you, don’t be surprised when Harbaugh and Hortiz draft Fashanu or Alt to play right tackle. They could even trade back and pick a pure right tackle like Fautanu or their future center in JPJ.

If priority #1 is protect the QB, they *HAVE* to take an offensive line. I am hoping they get Jackson Powers-Johnson (and this is not just Duck bias talking). It will fix the oline and the run game. He's awesome. Another Corey Linsley potential.

Why would they draft a DE when you have Joey, I think we keep Keenan, Jim has always started upfront and a running game, Michigan had many game managing QBs over the years before JJ McCarthy bc Jim’s offense was run first, they gonna pick OL first and DT just watch

Problem with RB early this year is that the talent is just not there in this class. Brooks probably had the best shot at going round 1 before tearing his ACL. Would be shocked to see a back go before mid round 2.

It sucks cus for a long time it looked like we could get powers-Johnson in the 2nd but thats not happening any more. He is the best center in this class and his stock keeps going up. He is going in the 1st round now so dont know how we deal with the gole at center now but they have no choice to find a starter at yhat spot through the draft or free agency cus linsley is done and clapp is barely acceptable as a backup center

5:30 I don’t believe for one second that the Spanos, specifically John Spanos, wasn’t meddling in an ignorant, destructive way. The history of the franchise strongly contradicts that statement (I know, Pop… you gotta stay in the Spanos good graces). John Spanos stated he talked with Telesco and Staley EVERYDAY. Also, three times John Spanos hired a rookie HC. Of course Tom Telesco hired McCoy, Lynn & Staley but obviously the Spanos are the reason 3 rookies in a row were hired as Head Coach. The issue was money. Finally, the pain became to great - and Jim Harbaugh became available - that they had to pay up. I heard Jim Harbaugh is being paid $16M/yr plus $3M bonus with an AFC Championship appearance and another $3M with a Super Bowl appearance. Who knows what a SB win bonus looks like.

Hey guys why does Emmanuel Acho.. no why does ESPN “Speak” hate Justin Herbert so much every time I see a video clip they are not even talking about the real problems that have gone on with the team they just blame everything on him and say he’s a bad quarterback.
