Update: Daniel is 8 years old, fully verbal, amazing boy. He apeaks so much, amazing thinking, was able to travel on the plane from Canada to Europe. He becomes independent and has lots of friends... lots of work, huge improvement with ABA program. I will post more videos of him later... please never give up on your kids. They are little miracles. Please do hard work every day...

Is your child in speech therapy?
@wynnneal45056 жыл бұрын
I'm in tears cause my son is like this too. He is now 5 and still can't have full dialogue with adults and kids his age. As you see, this boy is smart, so is my son, but they just have a hard time having dialogue. When he wants something, he just whines rather than ask for help or say what he wants. No matter how many times I teach him to ask. He knows how, but he prefers not to speak. I wish he develops soon 😢 Sometimes, I doubt myself and feel like I am such a terrible parent who can't help my son much.
@misturrrbeest87706 жыл бұрын
Hey, I don't wanna act like a "know-it-all" but I'm positive that it isn't completely your fault, I have a cousin who I'm very close to and she can't talk properly even if they were focusing on that since she was born because her previous siblings had a similar incident of speech delay as well, it's the child's abilities I think. Anyways, good luck with your child but I just wanted to let you know that you're a good parent because you care about him sooo much
@chasitytaft82416 жыл бұрын
My son will be 4 next month and doesn't really talk at all. I think it's my fault because I kinda understand his body language and babble so I wasn't correcting it. He is so smart and friendly to other kids and adults. He just can't communicate. I see him get frustrated and I get so upset with myself over it. Like what did I do wrong? But videos like this are definitely helping me figure out a path to take to help him.

my grandson is two and a half....he speaks about 10 words and sometimes a two word phrase. he first spoke at 8 or 9 months but never progressed much after a year old. He started therapy two weeks ago, speech problems diagnosed and autism is not diagnosed as of now. He avoids eye contact but does have it sometimes, so this is confusing. For instance, maybe a few times a day. He still babbles alot like a baby. Covid isolation did not help. He is not very social at all. His sister was the exact opposite of all of this so it's new to all of us too! He is quiet in general, loves to eat !

My son just turned four this past January.(Now is March 2022). He still speaks like a 2-year-old or so. Howeverz I noticed that little by little and day after day, he is slowly learning many new words and is slowly able to more clearly pronounce his word. Let's not feel bad or sorry for our children. Or feel bad or somehow inadequate as parents. I think we should appreciate our children more, no matter of that are speech delayed ,or not. I love him very much and I am hopeful that once he starts school in September as a junior kindergarten, he will meet and play with other kids and he'll blossom aland come into his own. Children are such a blessing. I so cherish my son everyday. 😊
@samkubla57452 жыл бұрын
@@jvkenshin416 well said . It’s a struggle no doubt but I think our children have something special in each of them , my son is very mechanically inclined . He can start a motorbike and rev the engine and no one taught him this. We sat him on a bike and there he was doing it by himself and he was only 2 . So don’t think your child isn’t smart just because they don’t or cannot talk like a regular 3 year old . But I sincerely hope and pray that parents like me overcome their struggles! 🙏

My daughter is a little over two & half, I noticed by around 2 she really hadn't said any words, not even a "no". I know she understood language because I could tell go get me your shoe & she'd bring it so I mentioned it to her pediatrician & she sent her to a speech therapist once a week for 6 weeks. I didn't really noticed any improvement at 1st but I took a cues from the therapist & started looking at KZfaq videos on speech delays & started doing some of the things they suggested. There has been a tremendous improvement, she's talking lots now, now I'm trying to learn how to help her learn to complete her sounds & speak more clearly. Songs & short story books, repeating words, asking her to look at me when I'm talking to her have really helped her improve & watching a lot you tube videos has helped me find different methods to try & help her do her best... good luck

I'm happy to read all these commentaries and this marvaelous video. I have no kids but I have a nephew who I love so much and he's going through this at the age of 4yo and not uttering words properly. The family thinks that his speech delay is due to the absence of his mother, the father since born, his mom because she, when my nephew was 1yo and half, left home 3 days, 1 week, a month, and during that time he cried many nights calling out for his mom. Until the she stopped going away it has passed about a year. She had some emotional problems, sadness I think due to the not well relationship she had with her son's dad. After reading this, I'm writing down tips from you in order to talk about it with his mom and so I can help too. Thanks everyone for commenting your experiences here! You streghthened the community knowledge of parents who are going through this. And thanks who took of her time to record this video. )

My brother is almost 5 but still can't pronouce words or say sentence and he's still in diapers. He understands us a bit andknows how to be potty trained but he just doesn't want to do them. He only understamds some English with a little bit of our mother language. Don't worry, if a child talks late, he will be intelligent according to psychology. Einstein himself was a late talker and spoke at the age of 4 so don't worry. When I learned to talk at 4.5 now I'm 13 years old. But if your brother a late talker, he will be smart like Einstein but if he's over 5 years old and still can't talk, he has a problem but you can't still teach him with therapy. Don't worry, he will learn soon 😊
