If this show had come out literally five years later it would've been huge easily because the Internet would've carried it, more people would've been able to see it, I remember being a little kid watching this on public access and it just disappearing after the second season back in those days you couldn't even ask Google search engine why a show had been canceled and get a real reason

Confessor blood rage is very rare even for mother confessor. Kahlan is gifted with that powerful magic than can make her practically unstoppable.

When I read about the Con Dair, blood rage, in the book, I kind of thought of it as an equivalent to when Jean Grey becomes Dark Phoenix in the X-Men. Not exactly the same, of course, but similar.

@@tinaplunkett8795 kinda hard to say... The show is really freely inspired from the books. Those books have a lot of good and a lot of bad. But i liked them they were quite easy to read. Fact is Richard is over powered since start and his way of thinking is always the right one wich can be annoying sometimes. But some characters have nice arc mostly Cara, and Nikki. there is nice ideas in the book, and fun paralels to do with reality some times. Everything you saw on the show is there in an other form. You will have people you love, Zed, or Kalahan. Some charaters will be linked to eachother differently. Well i read tome 1 to 11 there is more. but 11 is a good end. It seems there is also a sequels with Kalahan & Richard kids "the children of D'Hara".

More like the Power of a Mother Confessor, whom was never taught this by her own mother. Which means she shouldn't been able to invoke this yet she did, that should give you a clue to her real power. The other clue to her true power is most confessors need hours and sometimes days to rest after using their power, Khalan only needs 2 or 3 hours to recover.

Hi from 2020, hope the last 7 years have treated you well! And yeah, I agree... The series was really my first introduction to Sword of Truth, and then I picked up the books which led me to authors like Sanderson and Robert Jordan and now Fantasy is my favorite genre and reading my favorite hobby, but I love Sword of Truth. I think they truly, truly got Mord'Sith, Zed, and in my opinion Kahlan right. The rest, however, was not an accurate portrayal. I for one, however, prefer the series appearances of Rahl, Kahlan, and Richard (Mace too!) as compared to the books.

The two Craigs were wonderful as Richard and Darken Rahl.

I like how in the walking in the woods scenes that "Legend Of The Seeker" had a lot of, that tall Zed was in the middle and shorter Richard and Kahlan were on each side of him. These scenes would not have worked as well if Kahlan was walking in the middle with tall Richard and tall Zed on each side of her. Zed stands out more if he is the only tall person in these scenes.

Just for the record, wizard Gillard was at first portrayed to be a bad guy in the books, but then he redeems himself by helping Rachael how to steal one of the boxes of Orden from Queen Milena. And Uses wizards life fire to keep Rachel’s location safe. Kahlan doesn’t kill him.

When i read that i was so sad, Gillard was a trustworthy wizard to the mother confessor opting to play the bad guy while the mother confessor hated him. And i was so shocked when rachael ran into the gar and it left me with a cliff hanger untill the next book. I honestly thought she died to the gar

Yeah, but that was back in the day when a show ran for 28 episodes per season. We get like what 6-12 per season now. Even with GOT running for what 5 seasons. It's still less episodes than LotS.

When Tribune Entertainment got into financial difficulties, they declined to purchase anything more after season two (I think that they had over 20% of the U.S. market showing LotS). Disney could have picked up the slack, but The Mouse had no interest in supporting an orphan legacy show when they acquired ABC. There was a half-hearted effort to sell LotS to Sy-Fy, but neither side really cared.

The book and the series is very different from each other. It's very loosely based on the books. If you're a fan of the books, you're going to be very unhappy with the series. The book series is really good. Mostly anyway. I've read it many times. Season 2 of the tv series is much better, because they stop pretending to follow the books, and made their own story basically. If you don't know the books, you'll probably like the series, and I would love to say, watch the tv series first, so it isn't ruined for you, if you read the books first, but honestly, the books are so much better, and I think you would ruin many things in the books, by the tv series. So I would recommend reading the books first, and then watch the tv series. Kahlan's fighting is really well done in the series. Richard isn't really anything like the character from the books, and the Sword of Truth was ruined in the tv series, it's basically just a magic sword in the tv series, when in the books, it's so much more. Kahlan earns respect from the viewers, while Richard really doesn't. He is so not the character from the books, it's criminal.

@@serena3673 Cara is pretty similar, but a bit harder in the books, but there is more than one Mord-sith in the book series. Richard is so much better in the books, and there is much more to the Sword of Truth, then it being a magic sword. There is so much more to the book series, the tv series barely touch any of it, about the only thing they got right was the names of the characters. That's just how bad the tv series was. Fans of the books, hated the series. Season 2 was much better, because they stopped pretending to follow the books, and did their own thing, which they did well. There is a lot of hate for the book series for no good reason. I would ignore it, and read it for what it is, which is a very good story. Book 1 is Great, Book 2 is probably the best. Book 3 has a few slow parts, book 4 as well, 5 he tried a different writing style, that really wasn't that good.
