An experimental short film documenting the day Daniel received a call from Laurie Allen in the summer of 2018. It had been 13 years since he’d seen her or heard her voice. Using selections from the extensive Daniel Johnston archive, “I Had A Dream That I Died” creates a sonic visual tone poem, spanning almost four decades of art and friendship. As well as the beginning of new memories ahead.

I love you Daniel hope your in a better place man. You may not be perfect but you tried when most people wouldn’t & that takes a lot of guts. One of my fav lines of yours all time is your stiller then a photograph frozen forever on the song you ruined it for yourself. Instantly in tears everytime I hear most songs. Your Erik Satie like when you play piano too 🎹

I'm a fan of Daniel's art and music but not so much his phone calls. This is in extremely poor taste.
