Senior year high school. This is the song I’d have on repeat all day throughout my senior year. I was really stressed out at the time with academics + mental health + self growth. There was a lot on my plate. Despite that I seemed fine on the outside. But I was pretty lonely which made things a lot harder. But there was this one person, And every time I hear this song I just think of them. They will never know it, but they were very kind to me, and just them being kind and treating me with respect gave me strength to push through. I’ll never forget that. People like them, make this world a better place. It’s the little things that matter guys, spread kindness wherever you go. You never know what someone may be going through. You can make such a big difference with just a small act of kindness. Beautiful isn’t it?

“I can’t save us, my Atlantis. We build it up to pull it down” I think that line has a lot of meaning to me personally for how much it relate to it. There could be many meanings to it and to each their own. But for me, it’s like a cry for help. Crying for help to someone to help or even notice us but we’re just discarded to the side so we speak to ourselves trying to cope in any way to distract ourselves from the hateful truth that nobody cares, nobody sees us. And in the last line where it goes “we build it up to pull it down.” I see it as if we’re finally giving up on trying to be found, be saved from whatever problems we have. Saying we’ve finally gave up on trying… (I swear I’m ok..)

Anyone else crying while listening to this? It’s just a really moving and powerful song. His voice just touches my heart ❤️

The line "i can't save us" ,it's not about me and someone, its about my self. it really relates to what i feel and what's been happened to me my whole life. I've tried everything i could to make myself stronger to reach my dreams that is forever out of reach and i fight for it on my own without anyone by my side then i ended up lose everything i have . To myself, i am sorry. I Can't save us.

"i cant save us , my atlantic ,we fall. we built this town in shaky ground" It took me more than a year to forget her, and this song was the last song we listened to together. I didn't think that the lyrics of this song was the end of our story.

This song made me cry because it reminds me of this boy in my class. "We got here the hard way." We did. I hated him at the start of the school year last year, but slowly throughout the months we got closer and closer until we eventually became very good friends and I developed a crush on him. "We built this town on shaky ground." Sadly, it's true. We had a love-hate relationship. One day we would be great friends, the next it would seem he liked me as more than that, then the next he would be super rude to me for no reason. No matter what fights we had we made up in the end, but every argument left a small scar in my heart. He asked for my phone number on the last day of school and we hung out over the summer and it was great. However, when the next school year started things started to go way downhill. This girl he'd known for 5 years started some horrible rumors about me being a stalker and a bully, making up absolute crap about me that wasn't true in the slightest. However, he believed all these rumors without a second thought despite being my very good friend for almost a year. He started ignoring me without telling me why, flirting with my best friend, and being rude. It destroyed me. "I can't save us, my Atlantis we fall." I tried SO. FREAKING. HARD. To stay his friend. To talk things out. To fix us. It didn't work. At one point I came up with a whole speech to say to him in my head, but then when I walked up to him my deepest feelings just poured out. I told him it crushed me that he didn't know me well enough to know I wasn't that kind of person, that I wanted to just be friends like we used to be. He said "I just don't know right now." and walked away. "We built it up to pull it down." I told him I wouldn't bother him anymore but I would be there if he decided he wanted to figure things out. His only response was beginning to spread rumors about me on his own, and it was enough of an answer for me. "I'll never take back the things I said." I have a new crush now, and I don't talk to that boy anymore. It still hurts my heart to see him at school sometimes, though. However, I wouldn't have changed anything about our friendship in the time it lasted. He gave me more temporary happiness than imaginable, and he also taught me a valuable lesson about respecting myself and letting go. Anyways, thanks if you read to the end of my rant, just had to get that out XD!
