How far we have fallen is a UNDERSTATEMENT! A person can go into depression remembering the past and getting angry for not being able to recognize such a beautiful life we had. I miss miss miss these times so much.

35 years later, he’s still on the cutting edge of comedy on Sunny. Amazing! (And Taxi and Ruthless People are both comedy hall of fame for now and the future.)

Danny is apparently a big music fan. I ran into him in person at two concerts circa 2004: I) Jazz legend Ornette Coleman at Disney Hall (downtown LA) and II) the late great Bo Didley at the House of Blues (Sunset Strip). Huge fan of Taxi and he was so so GOOD as Louie De Palma.

Loved him in Get Shorty. Great movie. I recommend it to everyone. The story is hard to follow at first but it makes sense after a while. Everyone is great in it. Travolta, Rene Russo, Gene Hackman, and an unknown James Gandolfini. But who really stole that movie was Dennis Farina. Watch it if you haven't. Hilarious movie.

"Taxi" was a surprisingly well written, funny show. Danny very clearly pulled away from the pack when (not a clip show) a show where the cab drivers reminisced about their most memorable fare. "Louis" (Devito) was "formerly a driver" and we saw him drive a young kid back to Boarding School...

when my uncle was alive my family ,and I we use to say that he reminded us a lot of Danny Devito , in Taxi . And the weird thing is , he is buried across from a man who's last name is Devito . When my sister and brother and I saw that after our uncles service , we couldn't believe it . lol

I was wondering is the shrink talking about too tense as in hard on? (which would explain the teepee... Had to look up wigwam and suspected it was related to Danny being a hairdresser (wig). Did not get the pond. English is not my native language. Thank you Uroshman

Clearly David Chase missed out on a wonderful actor as Danny DeVito would have been great in The Sopranos.
@773SleepyHollow Жыл бұрын
Danny DeVito is a great actor and a charismatic star, but he would have been a distraction on The Sopranos... he was way too famous. Look at the regular cast members, they were all character actors (Lorraine Bracco was probably the closest to a star at the beginning, and she was nowhere near DeVito's level of fame).

Taxi - best show ever, along with Barney Miller, Mary Tyler Moore, SOAP, all the golden era shows. I think the reason they were so good was of course writers, but also they did not get bogged down with "couples". That's a sure road to boredom, and Taxi actually started to spiral when Latka dominated it more and more with his 'wife'. Latka ruined the show eventually. Tony Danza couldn't stand him.

*JOHN's problem was that he has aged too quickly by his looks.* In reality, in this video, he is quite young by today's standards. He should have coloured his hair dark and maybe done some skin care. With that, he could continue with his show way past 1992 -- until 2002, maybe. But maybe he was tired of the show anyway.
