I recently got clean from heroin. At this moment I have 40 days clean. I’m staying at a sober living house. I’m grateful to be clean now and listening to Danny Trejo makes my heart feel glad. I’ve met so many people that have suffered and are now sober that are the kindest people I’ve ever known. If you’re sick right now get to rehab and keep yourself surrounded by good people in AA and NA. Now I look forward to life everyday then fearing death

I love the point about understanding higher power as in you being powerless against something. I know a guy who's an alcoholic who got clean. After a couple years, I saw him drinking again. He told me it was different now because he'd "learn the tools to handle it". It took about 6 months for him to completely spiral out. It's like fighting a prime Mike Tyson and losing, and admitting you don't know how to fight and that's why you loss. Then, you take some boxing classes and convince yourself you can take him now. No, you can't. You aren't winning that fight. Just accept it and understand you should never step in the ring

A very good inspiration. I sometimes don't realize that I am actually doing something for someone yet I am doing it. In spite of whether it is family or not. I allow the universe to pay me back. It's not always in material or financial means. It comes also in the form of being at peace with myself. After hearing Danny speak, I now know what to do. Helping others especially when step 12 specifies this.

It always bothers me when people credit God for getting them clean. YOU got yourself clean. No one else can get you clean. You have to want it and do it for yourself and when you do it say I got myself clean. Same thing for athletes that praise and thank God when they win. God didnt have anything to do with it YOU did.
