Danny was performing as a houseperformer on a Dutch tv show for years before he FINALLY got his big break with this song. Well deserved.

A few months ago he saved someone from drowning by jumping into a canal... he hated that he got publicity out of it, was not important to him... He does not care about everything but music... he is one of the good guys in music

Fun fact: Danny started in same class as Floor at the Rock Academy Tilburg in '99. Funnily enough country is pretty much a non-existing music genre in the Netherlands.

Another one of "our gems" (but more than happy to share with the world!), Danny Vera is Americana orientated, and great story singer and with a voice you can listen to for hours and hours. What a blessing the internet can be from time to time, certainly when it comes to sharing the music that we love to listen to. That makes it possible for people half-way around the world discover artists they never would have known about and experience all these new songs, voices and interpretations of famous songs. Thnx for the upload guys, Danny certainly someone who deserves more attention :)

Lekker Danny !!! Nicely done my old friend! Vera is his stage name and it is a testimony to his way to early past away mother , Vera was her name. Danny is from the Netherlands as you already knew by now, he is really laid back about the "fame & spotlight" in the music industry. As a matter of fact, he doesn't care for it at all! Don't get me wrong, it is nice to earn your livelihood with singing. Danny has been around for a long time building on his craft. At a young age he started walking the path of creativity via his parents. Not like they forced him but more on a natural flow. His father , also passed away way to early , was also a tremendous great musician. So it is in my opinion definitely a gene pool thing! This song "Rollercoaster" he wrote himself and took of a year or so ago. The song grasped the attention of all media because , willingly or not , it was matched up with a public shooting afterwards as a comfort and strenght and grief song. The lyrics really also applied to this. It all took of from there for Danny and his band. I really think he deserves this after all he has been through... He also recorded an album a couple of years ago over in the USA. Don't remember the details , my apologies. Danny my compliments, I wish the best for you...! From an old soccer team mate. I am pretty sure Danny Vera also loves Alan Jackson’s music. If you enjoy this then please check out a band called The Common Linnets and their song Calm After The Storm. They were the entry for The Netherlands to the Eurovision festival and actually became 2nd. Eventually a protege of the lead singer, Ilse DeLange, won the Eurovision Song Contest last year. His name is Duncan Laurence and his song is called Arcade. More quality music from the Netherlands.

There is a yearly top 2000 of all times chart at the end of each year in The Netherlands and it reached #4 on that list and was the highest new entry. Only Bohemian Rhapsody, Hotel California and Piano Man where higher on the list. If you like country and americana music, we also have a few other great artists in The Netherlands with Waylon and Ilse DeLange.
