A decade later, Gotham has grown up-it’s put away costumed heroism and villainy as childish things. The new Gotham is cleaner, safer…and a lot less free, under the watchful eye of Mayor Harvey Dent and his Batcops. It’s into this new city that Selina Kyle returns, a changed woman…with her mind on that one last big score: the secrets hidden inside the Batcave! She doesn’t need the money-she just needs to know…who is “Orpheus”?

This book is kind of like Catwoman’s version of The Dark Knight Returns. Set in a future DC Universe. Harvey Dent is mayor, Batman is dead, Catwoman has been in prison for the last 10 years. How does an older over-the-hill Catwoman adjust to the new Gotham City. In my opinion this was one of the most fun books from DC this year, and I think this will become one of the essential Catwoman books that people rank among the best Catwoman stories for years to come.

This was a good one; I couldn't pause it until it finished; the story grabs you as you go. Seeing the Gotham characters in a more adult stage of their lives makes them all very relatable and more human. Good job mate.

This Video is so good. The Characters are written well. The parallel problem of power supplies with the Batmobile and Lantern ring is great. The other satire is amazing.

I am enjoying the beginning of the video. Though with the news the other day, I can’t help but think how fitting that Bats is dead in this run; R.I.P. Kevin Conroy, he will always be Batman to a ton of us.

That Catwoman Riddler romance was some pure fanfic comedy

Curious to hear more opinions on their romantic relationship. I thought it worked in the story, and I was a fan of it. Did you find it was a bad decision or out of character? It reminds me of how in Kingdom Come, Catwoman and Riddler were really close friends in the future continuity in that book. This book just solidifies that friendship, and then eventually that friendship turned romantic over time. They are both old friends with no other romantic partner and they kind of just happened to get together unexpectedly in old age. That worked for me, but if people hate it, curious to see how opinion splits on it.

@@dannymalt I just feel like she would get with a normal person or a cop like she usually does if it ain’t Batman her being with riddler just seems ridiculous and goofy like someone had to write that cause it doesn’t seem genuine or natural

I do like how Riddler does explain in this book he was on a lot of coke back then, lol. That's why he was so goofy in the past.

I enjoyed it, wish I read the entire series. I liked that Poison Ivy was a BBW then her usual Barbie doll figure. Killer Croc was cool as well. Cool plot.

I have a question. Don't you need super high willpower to wield a green lantern ring? Or are there different rules for Alan Scott ring. I haven't read anything related to his run as green lantern

Okay. I know it’s a little bit plot-armor-y that Selina could guess how to break the magical enchantment on the batcave, but the other part of me is like, “they were lovers for basically decades on and off, I kind of believe that she, as a professional thief, would be able to guess with some ease the kind of tongue-in-cheek password Batman would be bound to have if it was a magical enchantment.” She knows why it’s magically enchanted in the first place, after all. 😛

This book is out of continuity, but one thing weird about that, is that in the past in Killing Joke (1988), Joker was the one that broke her legs and made her wheelchair bound. But in this continuity her legs were still working and she was Batgirl when Joker died. So she must have become paralyzed and wheelchair bound in this continuity in some other way.

Nice House on the Lake isn't finished yet, planning on returning to it when it is, I think it has two more issues left. I wanted to cover this one because think a lot of people will ignore this book because it is featuring Catwoman, but I think it is one of the better DC Superhero books from this year.
