Anybody know how to learn how much gap is best between the poles and the holes? Sometimes my prints nicely snap in and other times too loose.

@@dudejoe8390 do test prints, measure them. Like with calipers. Also there are test cubes and ways to adjust for the error in cura etc. If you just print stuff from thingyverse maybe the ppl just used different offsets not much u can do about that

it's a Tourbillion escapement, wich is used to defies gravity effect that will interrupt a watch's accuracy back in the pocket watch days. nowdays it's only used for an engineering statement by watch brands or even watchmakers alike and because it will looks cool to see in front of your watch when you reading the time!

For those who don’t know what they’re looking at, it’s a simplified mechanical watch escapement, these can be viewed and utilized in mechanical watches you can buy for yourself!

This is a mechanism from watches. It is called a tourbillon, its purpose was to counteract the gravitational forces so they don't affect the balance wheel.

The way it’s designed and the use of the colors purple and gold kind of makes it look like a design you would see on a Beyblade for some reason. I like Beyblades. So, I think it’s cool.

what are those little metal sticks that you use to join the pieces?

Those are 1.5mm diameter steel rods that you can usually find in RC hobby stores. I got them from Ali express, you can simply search for 1.5mm ejector pins or 1.5mm stainless steel rods.

Someone explained this mechanism to me like this: it is a primitive battery that can take a small amount of energy and release it bit by bit. Fascinating.
