I love salads. Since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, it has been no bread, no rice, no pasta, no potato, so I eat salad almost 7 days. I lost 65 pounds, and the Magnolia restaurant on Fremont has a great chef salad! If you are looking for great food, my first thought is the Oxtail soup at California hotel. It is so good it should be the signature dish of Las Vegas.

It's not to often that you hear Danny say that something is too salty.

Some of my friends and I were staying at the old Binions when the FBI raided it and shut it down. They made us all leave immediately. I didn’t get a chance to have one of their roast beef sandwiches they served on the casino floor. I had heard it was the best roast beef sandwich served anywhere in Vegas. That’s my one and only Binions experience.

The dressing mostly makes a salad. However, I sometimes buy radish seeds from my local hardware store and/or Walmart. I will sprout them like alfalfa or bean sprouts and put them on my salad. Their peppery taste have made me say what a good salad. I will also put them on sandwiches as well.

One thing for sure the deserts in this run of the mill cafe weren’t $8.49 pre pandemic. That’s a sky high price for a downtown greasy spoon.

I’m with you Danny. I don’t like salads and only now that I’m older I started eating salads for my health. Longhorn makes a good salad with strawberries and pecans but if you go to Wicked Spoon you’ll find a good variety that are pretty good

I'll draw a pass on Binions. Why do these places load up their food with salt? The only entree that appealed to me was the hot roast turkey. Hard to find a good one these days bin Manhattan, the only good one is the Waverly Diner in the West Village.

its a good cleanser especially before a heavy meal. I will say had a Cobb salad in this shack restaurant on the drive to key west that had crab and lobster and that was amazing.

I'm actually a pretty big salad person. It's pretty rare that I order the soup instead. Given, I definitely wouldn't eat it if it weren't for the dressing. With that being said, eat your veggies Danny!
