This is the first half or our New Year's trip to Danseys Pass. In this video we leave Christchurch and head to Fairly before the gravel roads start with heading over Mackenzie Pass. A paper road provided some entertainment before we went up Hakataramea Pass that brought us into Kurow for a quick lunch stop. After a short stop at Takiroa and a look at the rock paintings, we headed up Danseys Pass while the weather got worse and worse. Without much a view at the top, we pushed on and we were happy to arrive at the hotel where we enjoyed a cold beer and the fire. With better weather on the pass the next day and a storm passing over the planned route, we decide to head up the pass again to enjoy the view.
