For the guessing the name thing, I think - as Dan was credited at the start - the map creator knew he would play so there was a testfor command which tested for the player's username. If the player is called "DanTDM" then that dialogue will trigger, otherwise it would just say some other dialogue. Just a theory though, I don't actually know.
