I lived this song! My late first husband was a drummer in a band through the 70’s into the early 80’s... We had been together since I was 15... We were married in 82 and when this song came out in 83 he would sing it to me when he was on the road. I was home with 3 little ones and active duty Navy... He was killed by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle in 84... I played this song at his funeral... So every time I hear this I think of him lovingly... Hearing you sing this so beautifully, brings a flood of emotions and tears, but in a good way... It is his way of reminding me... Even after almost 40 years I know he is still with me... Thank you Dan for sharing your special gift

This song means so much to me. I am not a traveling musician, but I am an over the road truck driver and am on call every day. My husband is also a truck driver so we never know when we will be together. This song truly portrays how I feel even though I am rarely able to see my husband.
