Glenn Danzig cohosts Much Music's Loud Program. Sorry for the “buzz” on the video but it’s from a 20+ year old tape and I did what I could with the tools I have. Give it a few seconds and you’ll forget about it! 😅

The dude who did the interview is REALLY good at respecting artists.
@chuckufarlie82153 жыл бұрын
People go back and watch old videos of bands out of context and comment on the artists disposition as if it always reflects on them and no one else. The most you usually see in terms of giving them the benefit of the doubt is "maybe they were having a bad day" but I've always noticed that it's just like life for anyone, it's everything: the context of what outlet they are with, what they or that outlet have said in the past about you or acts like yours of who knows what other thing that might be important to you, and how they approach you and what *you* know they are trying to do in the interview (leading the conversation, asking loaded questions, looking for quotes that make you look bad, etc all of which are more than an insult if you agreed to do the interview, especially if you aren't getting paid or aren't getting paid much) Anyone, under certain negative circumstances is going to be hesitant, rude, or not give a fuck and act an ass if the person approaching you is out to get you, antagonising you, or a joke. If you're being filmed you might be in a catch 22 where saying "I thought we weren't going to talk about that" basically shines a light on what you didn't want to talk about...it's way more complicated than people pretend it is. Personally I don't see any reason to be in any way respectful to someone trying to make a fool of me to the general public. I doubt the people who watch Nardwar videos to prove to themselves Rock musicians suck and "cool people" aren't "as cool as they think they are" would care much for that shit either, but people like that don't *think* they just run their mouth.

One of my Uncles was selling Glenn comic books at one time. My Uncle , had no idea who he was, until I told him. He just knew small details, I guess through via email at the time (years ago). Eventually, I think they met at some convention to trade comics or something like that.

Korn. I don’t know much about them but in high school, when Korn was new, this kid who sat next to me was telling they were good and I just wasn’t into it based off of the name alone. He said that we should trade CD’s for the weekend, he gives me whatever Korn album it was and I give him my favorite album. I gave him the Minor Threat discography. He wasn’t feeling it and I damn sure wasn’t feeling Korn. You tell me who was on the right track.

"Just to get a paycheck..." Danzig 6 and 7 were gold! 5 was the best! But how pompous! Just to get a check... one that you insisted on getting a cut of. Singing "mother" still?... that's sad. That song sucked when it came out! 5000 times later.... still no better! To see Danzig on the Blackacidevil tour with Coal chamber... that's amazing! But to hate on the Graves era misfits?... lame. They were bigger than they'd ever been! Music so much bigger. OG misfits I LOVE! But they're a cult band. (The have a cult following and they're iconic songs) but American psycho LP & Famous monsters LP.... perfect records. Theres a reason they made it onto terrible Wrastlin' (WCW) n had such a massive impact at that time... it was because the music was good and they put in the work! I mean the look of the band in those years were AMAZEBALLS!! They looked like comic book characters, not just a backing band with devilLocks. OG only had Glenn wearing paint sometimes. Just rubbed me the wrong way! It's as lame as seeing someone with a misfits shirt n then getting into the whole "Graves or Glenn" battle. Grow up!

New fan here.🖐 So pretty much every interview i've seen so far he seems respectful and he seems to enjoy them. Can someone point me to one that contrasts the ones I've seen? I see so many people say he's an asshole in interviews but I don't see it. He just seems a little more straight forward, blunt and opinionated but not rude or douchy.
