i got the Dapol class 68010 for Christmas your wright it really is a stunning model and pulls excellent.

Nice presentation. I await delivery of 007, ordered last week. Another livery for the future, will be TPE, when the 68 will be hauling 5 CAF Mark 5 coaches.

Awesome vid! I'v got DRS' exclusive Ltd Ed 68001 in order. I can't wait to receive it! :D

I've also got a dapol class 68 005 and it's called defiant, I've got it dcc sound fitted and wen you put it onto the track, the top light is permanently lit and can't be turned of, my dad thinks it's either the decoder chip of the board, so i have taken the chip back to dcc kits and see if it's faulty or not.

Great review :) I've got 68002 Intrepid as well :) have to agree with you on it being the best ready to run model in the UK I've been waiting for the Dapol Class 68 for a while it has to be one of if not the best Diesel loco I own :) I ordered it form Jackson Models in Cumbria for £123!!!!!!! Which is a pretty good price but the day after I ordered it they put the price up to £145 so I got a lucky bargain :) thanks for sharing :)

What little gem! I may have a 1960's layout but I know for a fact I will be getting the scot rail version aha as long as there's money in my pocket ;) what a brill review matt!

After waiting a year and a half I finally managed to get the replacement body. Nice chassis makes and easy fitting for the sound decoder and upgrade speaker. Very well engineered. Shame that the early production model did not come with the detailed disk brakes. Overall a good but delicate model.

What stood out for me, tho you didn't seem to notice was the paint bleed onto the headlights.

Hi Matt, Dapol had a meeting yesterday and will be releasing information on their website about what they are going to do about the wrongly applied livery. You are correct, if you want the Halo lights to work you will need a 6 function decoder, they look excellent. Be careful if you are going to install a decoder, there is two very thin enameled coated copper wire, which look like they are for the Halo lights. It would not take much for them to become detached...Simon

product label on side of box Matt! difficult to store as easy if you have other dapol models. my friend at the Locoshed MCR has had quality control issues as have other stockists such as lopsided nameplates and parts loose in the box otherwise I agreed good packaging.i fancy the drs limited release of 68001 only available from the drs shop run of just 350 pieces set you back a. cool 200 quid!! otherwise fantastic loco and fantastic review the best to date anywhere thank you nick red shed 66077.

I got Dapols DRS 68002 Interpid this week and agree it looks stunning, just be very very careful with the detailing parts on each end as these have a habit to come loose and fall off for which today i discovered and had to search around the entire layout to find them to then reattach. I have also had an issue with the sprung buffers, they easily become loose from their sockets and fall out :( luckily i found it undamaged.

Seems similar to the continental ACME products in level of detail and the packaging both are sublime.

I believe that a few stockists have returned some drs examples already! reasons already stated and shorting out on the track. ! shame as it is the best rate modern image loco to date Matt ,,mind e 68005 runs fine luckily as I hope yours does thanks nick red shed

cheers Matt! looks like a really nice loco. Good that you have gone back to the old style. One thing, not keen on your new intro. It dosent represent your channel.

Nice up to date Chassis, good motor, easy to fit sound decoder and speaker. Alas too many problems, loose light fittings, broken buffers, wrong graphics I am still awaiting a replacement body in 2018. More to the point Dapol were not interested. The customer service team at Dapol were less than helpful. I had a chance meeting with the MD of Dapol at Loughborough, polite man seemed unaware of the quality control issues but my problems have not been addressed. Dapol have produced an impressive model but I seem to have purchased a Friday afternoon build. Seriously I have not had the problems with other manufacturers, more to the point the customer service needs to be addressed. ------------------------------------------------------------------ After waiting more than three years for the Dapol MJA wagons, very disappointing, interior parts missing, wheels falling off bogies. Again Dapol not interested, unhelpful tried to pass the blame on the retailer until I informed them the purchase was made at Alexander Palace. Forgive me Bachmann I will never betray you again.
