Seriously realistic physics in this game lol. Its all about conserving momentum. You need to watch the bounces because your marble will have all of its momentum going forward but if you go to turn your marble will still be spinning in the original direction which is forward so when you touch the ground itll skip and launch in that direction expending its forward momentum before it can turn. Which is why you have no momentum when you turn sharply and why it takes 2 bounces to stop fully.

Here's an important tip: if you hold the jump button before you land, you will jump automatically.

I use to play a similar game in the first computer we own back in the late 80s/ early 90s. the marble could break if it fall from too high. Never manage to complete the game back then.
