Just so you know, Daredevil doesn't kill people, he's too moral for that. He just severely cripples them resulting in them being paralysed for life.

There actually weren’t hidden cuts in that hallway scene of episode 2. It was one long take. They got so much praise for it that they decided to do a one take hallway scene in every season. The one take shot in season 3 is like 18 minutes long I think. It’s an insane scene in a prison

The chemicals he was exposed to that caused the eye loss did enhance all his other senses. So, technically he does have super powers.

In every season of Daredevil, there is an absolutely mental one-shot fight scene. There is nothing in Marvel that compares to Darevil's gritty fight scenes (except for maybe Punisher's).

Who's ready for Matt Murdock to become my second favourite character in Marvel?

The hallway seen is by far one of the best realistic scenes In a superhero movie. Love the way Matt gets winded but keeps fighting till the brink of death.

I’d recommend watching Defenders before season 3 of DD. Even if you skip the other Marvel Netflix shows, Defenders still provides important context for season 3

I've recently started binging the Defenders saga in release order so this is perfect timing! I really hope you're also going to check out Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc. Since Fisk and Murdock have shown up in the MCU, it's possible any of the characters from Defenders could too.

The main way daredevil sees is similar to echolocation, bats screech and produce sound waves that bounce around and give them a sort of image of the space around them and Matt can do that too, but due to his radioactive origins he constantly emits these silent waves from his own body. On top of that he has other ways of interacting with the world, the beat of someone's heart is as distinctive to him as their fingerprints, he can tell north by the magnetic pull and his touch is so sensitive he can read just by touching the ink on the page. Though he does stick to brail so as not to arouse suspension

Watched this show when it came out. EASILY one of the best Marvel experiences ever created. Can't wait for you to watch the rest!

just to clarify: Daredevil DOES have powers, the levels of acuity he has with the other senses are not accessible with any type of training and are an effect of the chemicals, he only learned to focus it, also his sense is just as effective as the spider-sense

For me, the moment that solidified I was watching something different and special was that first [of several, thankfully] hallway fight scene in episode 2. I really don't think Marvel Studios will ever top it. Hopefully Daredevil: Born Again can at least come close to the incredible standard this series set.

Daredevil is such a great show! I loved it soooo much. Definitely the best out if all the series they’ve released imo. And they way I screamed at the movies when I saw him in the last Spiderman movie. Charlie Cox is such a great actor! 💛

Finally Seb is watching the best superhero show

The Netflics series' just hit differently. Love the grittiness, especially in contrast to the less-gritty current D+ shows. That said, Wandavision through She-Hulk were all part of the initial production wave of MCU TV, before critic/fan feedback, and more importantly, before Disney+ allowed anything more violent than PG13. Hopefully the rumours of phase 5/6 being a course-correction pays off. The new Daredevil series could be amazing if done well and in the same style as season 1-3

You know it's been interesting seeing people getting back into Daredevil that have never seen it but have seen most of the MCU and flipping out at his powers. A lot of times the movies tend to gloss over the cool novelty of having super powers and what they can do to simplify things for the story. But if a comic is written well the powers are part of the story, as they do here.

When I went blind for a couple days due to extreme high blood pressure, it was no fun at all. My hearing got 10x better when I was blind and since I’ve recovered my sight, my hearing is still 10x great. Matt Murdock is my spirit animal 😏

there are so many good scenes just in the first three episodes, but i think the absolute first gut-punch that locked me in was right after the hallway fight scene. after getting his ass kicked, matt takes a moment to pull his mask up so that the kid won't be scared. he knows he needs to protect himself and he says he enjoys beating people up, but he goes out of his way to show his face to a frightened kid in an attempt to not scare the kid more. i don't know, something about that moment just made me go: yeah, i love matt murdock awesome reactions and so excited to hear your thoughts on future episodes!!

I miss the days of when the only Marvel shows were initially Agents of SHIELD (first 2 seasons) and Daredevil I use to absolutely love those two shows and rewatched them so much and then Jessica Jones, Agent Carter and Luke Cage and they were good too

So, Thank you! I honestly thought, that you are going to wait 'till the 1 season ends, but I was wrong, so thank you. But I still have an advice, you don't have to take it, but if you are going to be interested in the full Defenders-saga, espesally after watching the 2 season of Daredevil, or the watching of Jessica Jones will, then please watch the rest of the shows too. Because Jessica Jones is too good, (I personally don't have an opinnion on Punisher, because I haven't sene that, I'm at the 1 season of Defenders) and chacing up with the timeline is an important thing to do too. But I am just thankfull about the effort that you put into these reactions, and I will be happy if you wach "just" Daredevil.

Night Nurse is a title of sorts. It's a moniker for a doctor or nurse who is willing to treat superheroes and supervillains without notifying the authorities. Claire Temple in this show is one person in the comic books who took the mantle. Dr. Strange's girlfriend is another character who had the mantle for a time. Daredevil is definitely not Batman. He's basically a blind martial arts character as a superhero. The cool thing about him is that his superpowers are mostly related to his senses. His actual offense and defense comes mostly from his martial arts skills.

It all depends on which version of Daredevil you watch or read, but in the comics and the Ben Affleck versions Daredevil actually has a sonar-like sense. This allows him to "see" sort of like Toph from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

That's the big thing that I worry the Disney version of Fisk won't try to capture: the visceral FEAR that he inspires, not only in his enemies but even in his henchmen. At least based on the Hawkeye cameo we saw, he just seemed like a grumpy dude, rather than a deeply unstable person with ice in his veins.

Deborah Ann Woll is so underrated. She was fantastic in these early Marvel shows.

That hallway fight actually didn’t have any hidden cuts, it was an actual Oner as they’re known in the biz. If memory serves, according to a stuntman on Corridor Crew who knows the people that worked on that fight, they did 12 takes and ended up using the 11th one

There are no hidden cuts in the hallway. They did an equivalent scene in season 2 and 3, the only one that has hidden cuts is season 2.

Me, when I first saw Daredevil about a year ago: "Oh, he's a human lie detector- Just like Toph!" Seb: "Oh, he's like Toph" 😆 This is one of the reasons I love watching reactions. I can see that I'm not the only one who thought a certain way when seeing something. It has a cozy effect- As if the world has gotten just a bit smaller, in that "everyone's connected" and more similar than different sort of way.

I was hooked after the 2nd episode like Matt is jsut so interesting and how his powers work and how they write him and Kingpin in this show is greys

The Kingpin is etremely well done in this series. What showed up in Hawkeye was a Disney-fied characterature.

so hes kind of has super natural abilities. when he got blinded all his other senses got heightened and he was later trained to use them to his advantage. so he has the surrounding sense where if you close youre eyes and youre near something you can feel it being next to you. thats how he walks
