Daring Abroad: Village boy from Nyeri at prestigious Harvard University

He was Nyeri County’s top form four student of 2011. He later dared compete with other bright students internationally at the prestigious Harvard Univeristy that has produced many global leaders including U.S. President, Barack Obama. He chose to study stem cells science and now in his third year, Kelvin Muriuki can’t wait to make a contribution to the fight against cancer disease in Kenya. Muriuki is a beneficiary of Equity Group’s African Leadership and Mentoriship Programme. On Daring Abroad our special correspondent Alex Chamwada tells us more

Kelvin Njogu is an alumni of Karima Boys highschool.I'm glad to have been a student there too...a humble yet learned fellow...he gave us a motivational talk once before joining Harvard...He is one of my role models.😀

He never came back after graduation. He's now a Principal Associate Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. Very rich & successful.

That's a good report. My personal opinion is that you don't have to be in Harvard in order to succeed success come through hard working I know form fours drop out who are millionaires

I think to make it in the USA you have to be creative. For example I am a KZfaqr and a Life Coach. My channel Kadzowe has over 4000 subscribers and I help Kenyans, Africans and Americans get Full Scholarships in the USA. I also consult with families on transitioning in the USA, how to cope and keep a focus. To make it here I needed to be creative and use the technology to make it. That is all that is needed. It is not easier or better just different.
