14 years of my childhood at North Point, Darjeeling has been etched permanently into my psychic! Every bend in the road holds a memory. Growing up in Darj has taught me to always look upwards, no matter what life throws at you, and you will overcome! A quick hike up to Tiger Hill for the sunrise, then run back in time for classes, or a run down to Singla for a swim, chasing the Toy Train, skating and dancing at the Gymkhana Club, hanging out at Kaventer's watching the Loreto girls go by - ahhh! to be young again!

DARJEELING always reigns supreme with envelop of green Hills and majestic snow Hills. NATURE always smiles on us. Land of TEA,Chinese species', CAMELLIA SINENSIS and Ranges of PINE tree or CRYPTOMERIA JAPONICA, the eminence of DARJEELING.

Hi There... This was great for me! I was actually there in the 40's. I was 5-7 years old and attended the Loreta Convent in your film as my school ( My brother and I were the only boys in the school) We rode on the train, I went to school on the "Donkey's" that were in in your film, one day my ride was bitten by a snake and died on the spot. I tumbled down the hill and was found by my school teacher. 50 years later we met as I worked and she said " Are you Ian or Colin ?" Yes Ian, I said. She then said " I was your teacher at the convent when you were 7 years old." A small world to be sure as somebody on your blog said this place is etched in my mind for ever. I was very fortunate I used to got to boarding school Goethals Memorial School in Kurseong which is en route to Darjeeling. Most people of Darjeeling will be familiar with our school as we were competitive in sports in the district. Back in the day, this train was fully reserved for our students and would stop outside our school 'Siding' entrance to the school. Eat your heart out Harry Potter. I have since been back many times and remember I mentioned to one of the train drivers I was from Goethals he immediately put me into a First Class carriage. Wonderful memories.
