They reunited a decade ago for occasional shows. After getting a really good reception, they decided to take it more seriously and write new songs. Gene quit his job at Testament mostly for Dark Angel, so yes, they are very much alive.

@@Alexei_1973 They didn't, I only got to shake Rinehart's hand at the end of the show, but with his sister on guitars, Gene has puffed as eve, Mayer still riffing thrashing mad, and the will they still have on stage, always claiming they want to see thrash relive again, I kind of feel they've got that littkle flame that's going to push them to record some new evil, heavy, fast and headbanging mean shit. They gave me the smae impression when I saw them live in august last year. It's just my impression of course, but I sense some good connection in the current line-up, and the death of Durkin probably requires some healing through creativity. Hey, Possessed had the Revelation to Oblivion album in 2019, so why the hell not Dark Angel either in 2024 or 2025?

I can aknowledge that without taking away their greatness in the thrash department. Just not Slayer level .
