@@BadgerMcblasty dude, what are you talking about? i don't trigger my bassdrum because i can't play with it. i get loads of double triggering and it sounds like shit, because i rest my beater on the bassdrumhead. all i wanted to say is that triggers are a way to make your bassdrumsound more audible, it has nothing to do with how clean or unclean you play

sometimes during liveshows its done to aid the guitarist and the whole band in general. its easier to follow 8th notes on the to keep in time rather than 16th notes which turn out to be blur due to the nature of the hihat itself. the ride is an exception due to the fact that eavh hit is almost every time crystal clear and so easier to follow

@@hellgrinder2941 Yeah I know some people say that (like Eugene from Fleshgod) but when Francesco was playing he was going all in, just like Jaloma and the band was still keeping track. I always thought (and have never played live so I might be in the wrong) that musicians would have metronomes in their in-ears and would listen to this instead of reducing the performance/tempo or would just be able to follow even though the drummer blasted at full speed. I mean if some drummers do it and don't break the show then why are some not able to... That's why to me it falls under "it's easier" rather than "I'm helping my fellow bandmembers". Might be a question of personal preference too.

Cleaner for sure, but I still feel Nils has way more feel/dynamics to his playing and I think his style is more interesting too. This guy sounds like a drum computer (which is actually a compliment to him for being so insanely tight), but for me it kills a lot of that organic feel that Nils had. Nils also hits hard af!!

@@x-Gingerbeard-x it’s that trade-off, a technical artist can play the song perfectly and make it look easy while doing it. An emotional artist can play the same song but creates a tension and energy only imperceptible imperfections can give.
