It's different when it's just an online ranked match and no money is on the line. He probably plays like this cuz he wants to perfect his mechanics by risking goals test everything out ( again, online ranked so virtual points are the only thing that's at risk ) and prob cuz it's way more fun for a player at his level

besides the adhd swifty ahh gameplay, you can tell he is actually trying to also have fun along with his top tier gameplay, mechanical beast which also attempts to put his own unique twists upon it, and tries to always push his skill to his limits. such exciting and even addicting gameplay to watch. gotta love dark!

It's kind of funny right, because if you didn't know the game that well and judged the game on sound you would think he's just mashing the buttons real quick, and the way the car moves during the sequence would add to that assumption, but then he's just flying from 1 end of the map to the other. I like how Dark will take advantage when a defender is staying back. Controlling the ball and taking advantage of the free possession, then when he sees an opening he starts his shot. As a defender that's gotta be really hard to judge what angle he's gonna choose, or where he's gonna approach from. If that alone wasn't frustrating enough he's so fast, and so smooth it seems effortless. Dark's one of my favorite Players to watch.

Dark is sooo fast. Literally supersonic. Man uses as much boost as a Champ 1 when going for things, but doesn’t care because he knows he doesn’t need any boost to keep up with the opponent when defending

As much as Dark is an amazing player in 1s and I could never beat him in my entire life, what is keeping him from being #1 is unnecessary movements in a lot of different situations, such as wall-dashind while already supersonic and spamming boost at the same time, boosting to supersonic THEN walldashing, etc. It's definetly not the only example and it may not effect too much, but if you really think about his gameplay, unpredictability isn't going to be the only factor needed to be the best 1s player. Every subtle mistake can cost you.

The scariest part about his gameplay is all that flashy, seemingly unnecessary movement. First of all, it makes him much more difficult to read and probably faster at times. Second, it means he’s constantly experimenting and pushing the boundaries. By continually attempting risky and unorthodox maneuvers, he can slowly evolve his depth of his own capabilities.
