Ran the new dungeon with a drk. Popped living dead, used unleash once, was up to full HP. Dark knight is truly saved

It's nice when there is a healthy dialogue between players and developers. Starting to play FFXIV last year has been amazing.

To be honest, I always thought SE doesn't watch Xenos because they don't like him. But after seeing these changes I would advise dollar tree Kratos to shine that gorgeous head of his, Yoshida might indeed be watching.

Something he said at the beginning about Stalwart soul, as a level 62 DRK myself, yes, it does give blood gauge as soon as the gauge is unlocked.

I immediately thought of Xeno when I saw the drk changes. The change to living dead is exactly what I felt it should have done from the beginning and I love it so much.

I did some test in e4s unsynced no echo as it starts with a TB. With 77k hp, every hit I did healed 21k hp (crit not counted) so whatever you do, 4 hits will cleanse the debuff 100%

Thank God, DRK is my main class, anything with a greatsword is my go to.

I only got to test living dead once and with a massive group using an aoe it was healing close to 10k per hit. Rebirth activates literally with only 1 second passing lol.

Can't wait to pop LD and spam Unmends for heals. :D

GNB main here to weigh in on greedy wants: Sounds like a lot but... I'd like a 50-100% increase in healing potency for HoC and Aurora. An extension to No Mercy wouldn't hurt either, but the core rotation feels good right now. Also for those that want to quibble over that being potentially too much... Bloodwhetting, Equilibrium(+Thrill of Battle), and Clemency would still probably outstrip GNB sustain even with those buffs.

I can now play DRK on the new ultimate without being worried about living dead, that's some poggers news

Hell of a step in the right direction for DRK, just sad it took this long for some of these changes. I'll see you in Patch 12.1 when they finally finish tuning DRK. Still got the shit trait for the pet/dot/thingy, and the Asmon Special(plunge recast). TBN is still worse than the rest of the other tanks' short-term mitigation.

So happy to finally see you get a W for once man! Can't wait to see you kill it with these adjustments

in case of gunbreaker they should add a protection to your gnashing fang combo where if you started but then you need to move the boss and double weave you could go back to your main 123 or any other gcd without interrupting the combo of course they also need to increase the duration of no mercy but everyone including xeems have been saying that and in case of dark knight's sustain I've got couple ideas 1- take the description of oblation and put it on dark mind(oblation will be an upgrade to tbn) 2- combine abyssal drain with salted earth and add a debuff to enemies inside the dot pool making every damage they take( even from the party) or a percentage of it goes as heal to the dark knight and of course the button changes to the second ability 3- oblation just takes current tbn and adds a heal either if the shield breaks or not if it breaks you get 10% of max hp as heal and if it doesn't break the remaining of the shield is converted to hp with a minimum value of the former 10%, meaning for example if there is 3% remaining shield you still get 10% heal and if 12% remaining shield you get 12% heal now we could argue about the value of the minimum amount of heal you get from it but that's just my idea

This feels like the Monkey paw curled on me. DRK is my favorite tank and got buffed finally. The cost... Samurai lost Kaiten... I'll take it.

gnb needed some changes to the continuation but apparently no one posted a thread on the forum so they didnt do anything about it, drk and gnb still have burst window issue, hard to pop mits

also I don't see this get mentioned but with blood weapon change and early level stalwart souls dark knight actually now has a normal aoe routation that actually feels good with you being able to hit 5 blood weapon normally now where as previously you need to use your single target routation or do some weird delirium shenanigans to hit 5 blood weapons with aoe.

So now, TBN changes? Either Edge/Flood need to have their own cd and mp cost removed or vice versa for TBN. Delete Oblation and just rework Dark Mind to function like that. Can introduce another skill/ability/trait for removing Oblation….or re-introduce an previously deleted Drk skill/ability from past expansions.

DRK and WAR got all the major changes I wanted, so fuckin hyped for this patch

Man , justice for living dead makes me pretty happy . But tbh ill prob still main GNB till the nerf our dmg into the dirt.

Now we only lack Sole Survivor, Tar Pit for sustain, delete dark mind and restore Shadow Veil, cut the mana cost on TBN turn the spells into weaponskills, separating Carve and Spit/Abyssal Drain CD and, maybe, work on that unmend trait.

Maybe this is a stupid question and since I'm still leveling warrior that's probably the case but why does warrior not get an aoe gauge builder until the 70s? Am I missing something or does it make as little sense to other people as it does to me that you get a spender way earlier but not a builder? Wouldn't that just mean I should be saving my gauge for single target then, at least until I can easily replace it? I'm confused.

Call me fanboying or whatever, but we're a a little bit of clunk cleanup on GNB away from pretty much being in the golden age of tanks. Probably some other nitpicks to clean up with DRK and WAR but with the 6.1 changes, it's hard to ask for much more.

I think drk should get overtime healing for standing in salted earth, then it should get a burst heal with salt and darkness for every enemy hit by it. Plus the range of salted earth should be increased

Now lets cry about TBN and Oblation… we can do it. Just another 3 expansions thats all.

Just tried it, if Delirium is up it’s an automatic cleanse. It’s a straight death otherwise if you’re reliant on that for the cleanse.

I am not sure abr ir changes. Optimal would probably be super close timed prepull ir moving my timings (only relevant current tier though) but getting all 3 stacks off being super close is...probblematic.

Not going to lie, when I saw the changes to Dark Knight I immediately thought, "I want to see how Strummer responses to this"

Xeno i did try to do solo E12S as drk with the new LD i used on the tb and i could solo heal myself out from the WD with the weaponskills i got as furtherst to like the titan phase

The pld changes initially made me so excited because you could move your Valor combo around. In my mind you could have it so you could have double Valor under tincture. But someone on the balance did the math and said it was worse. Oh well, I think it'll allow for some nutty optimization in the future.

On range of Overpower. New aoe is radius 5y. Old 8y distance. However, it definitely hit a little beyond it's target. It also had quite a bit of width especially at end of 8y. So it's a bit hard to directly compare area. Old Overpower's design fit well with a slow pull style. Where you let enemies run toward you and can take the time to angle off first to reach you to hit the rest. New one better fits rushing ahead and being in the middle of enemies.

When I looked into the note especially fix of living dead and then I just realized Xeno is god. The solution was exactly what he proposed in previous video. Now it's an qualify skill and remains class style as Dark knight.

When I played DRK I never touched Living Dead because it was too easy to screw it up, mistime it, any number of things could go wrong and not only did I waste the CD, but now I'm on the floor dead, from an ability that's supposed to help prevent that haha. I'll certainly try to learn to use it more properly now.

'Dark Knight is Saved' aged so well.

Living dead is basically benediction in trash pulls however the healing part will disappear once undying rebirth takes affect so mitigation is needed to not drop to low health again. EDIT: They had living dead in such a state for so long that most healers don’t know about this change or think I’m trolling them.

Imo all dark knight really needs now is a bit more mitigation. Maybe tack something onto dark arts. Make it so when your blackest night is absorbed you get like 5 to 10 seconds of say 15% damage mitigation. Or maybe make it so dark mind blocks more than just magical. If that happens dark knight will be perfect

Just started playing ff14 2 months ago and I am so glad I never had to experience the old TLD. I have used this several times in duty finder to clinch bosses when my healer has died. He healing is massive and it works for every hit on the duration so you can self cleanse. It's decent in pack pulls but you need to communicate to your healer ahead of time that you plan on using it because they will panic and to save you before it pops causing you to miss the window. If TLD pops you will be at full health after 1 unleash so it's best to hold still until the duration is nearly complete.
