+Adrian Mantsch Couldn't agree more. As a classical pianist myself, I fell in love with metal at the age of 16 and then realized that my opera voice techniques work wonderfully well in metal as well. Today I sing both opera and growling very professionally and metal is my biggest love in life so far. With my love for classical music, these two combined are very much alike in many aspects. People need to be more open minded to metal, because it's one hell of a masterpiece of art.

You know, I have felt for a long time that were any of the classical composers revived in the modern day, they would bask in their own spoiling for choice of formats, genres, and instruments of the modern day. I feel they would never stop at one, but continue on throughout as many as they could.
@simoncarlile51907 жыл бұрын
They would definitely cycle through technology and genres, but I think they'd have intense personal preferences. I've always thought Mozart would enjoy creating some absolutely insane melodies in chillstep, but who knows.
@CYON4D7 жыл бұрын
I wonder how the masters would have reacted to the heavy percussion based metal/rock covers to their works if they could have listened to them. Since precussion as we know it is almost non-existent in classical music, that might be a very strange thing to their ears. I think they would have enjoyed the energy and dynamism in the song but I am not so sure about their final desicion on the style. They might just prefer to keep the traditional classical style in their works even after exploring the new genres especially if they are exposed to the new music at a later stage of their lives.

Why even compare them? The original is there, has its own merit, and here it's been re-imagined with its own merits. I'm sure there are plenty of people who could make an argument that this version is in fact better than the original, based on their own taste, but I think it's a non-issue. Both exist and have their own place in the world. It stands on the same footing as the original to me.
