Don't even consider living in Canada unless your salary is $200,000 or higher. 60% of your income is taken away by taxes so you won't have much to live on after paying taxes, and Canadian cost of living continues to skyrocket each year, making it near impossible to live for those who earn less than $150,000 per year.

As a Canadian, I want to say this with no disrespect. Canada is currently going down the crapper. We can barely look after the people here. So as a new immigrant, you are NOT wanted here. Canadians are angry and now view immigration as a burden, which wasn't the case in the past. Do us and yourself a favor and stay in your country ❤

Is it the fault of immigrants that Canada refused to build more houses to keep up with demand? Is it the fault of immigrants that Trudeau invested billions in the failed project Ukraine? Is it the fault of immigrants that Canada's mortgage debt is higher than GDP? Whose fault is it when Canadians borrow more than they can pay? Immigrants? Whose fault is it to have trade jobs so expensive? Immigrants? Who imposed a carbon tax? Immigrants? Who is destroying family structure by imposing nonsensical lgb.++ crap on us? Immigrants? Banks are laying off people and increasing their bonuses, and that's because of what? Immigrants? Covid lockdown was caused by what? Immigrants? Come on! I get your frustration with the cost of living, but immigration is not the problem. The Canadian tax scheme was not created by immigrants

Hey I am an Indian, the biggest problem that why the Indian people are moving to different countries is because of population and government is not doing anything to control it .....Due to over population there are no job or the job is of 100 dollars per month...... People are not able to fulfill their NEEDS.......IN THE END THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA IS NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO MANAGE THE POPULATION ...... ❤️❤️

All the international students coming from India know the current REALITY and I'm sorry to saying this, but they all choose to ignore the reality/flags. I personally know so many people who I have share reality with, but I feel like I wasted my time. Once they arrive here that's when they get into their senses but by that time it's too late for majority of them. As much as they all have my sympathy, but when it comes to using services like foodbanks, I feel that is not right ethical. Sincere request to all the potential students listen to people who are already in Canada and if you are someone with "Dekh lege" attitude please do not abuse the system just because you made the wrong decision. Great Job Shivansh Singla!!

I can weigh in on this. I have been a successful software developer for over twenty-five years. I have an undergraduate degree in commerce and a graduate degree in applied information technology. I have been unemployed for over a year now. I have applied to hundreds of positions without even getting a phone call. All of my prior clients have hiring freezes on at the moment or have just gone through multiple rounds of layoffs. I do see job postings, but I don't think they are real. They are either just collecting resumes for future possible positions or trying to elevate their stock price by making it look like their companies are doing better than they actually are. The market is currently flooded with software developers. Most of them are currently driving Ubers. I don't remember ever seeing the market this bad.

Ayush's answer makes sense. In addition to that, some people get down payment as a gift from their families by selling assets/properties in India. So that's how they are able to afford a house with bare minimum income.

Kids, kids, kids--- if you believe attending a college or university is a path to PR... dream on. It has worked (note: past tense) up to now, and I know some ppl who came here after whatever-you-call secondary school "back home" and got PR a few years ago. It is becoming close to impossible to live almost everywhere in Canada, unless you spend C$1000/month for a private bedroom ( and 12 month leases are the norm, not the exception). Aside from weather, cost of food, and the much-higher tuition you will pay, you will find nothing but C$15/hr jobs, unless you choose to work illegally for cash... and there are next to no $15/hr jobs that dont have long application lineups with 100s of ppl that look like you. And driving for Uber pays not much more than your costs. Background before the big news: Canada has underfunded post-secondary for so long, that to survive, some schools have specifically targeted foreign students with special programs for their higher tuition. Uh oh! Big news: Local employers know which schools are diploma/certificate mills. Around here, resumes from 'grads' from Centennial and Conestoga are filtered out. Bonus tip: some especially unscrupulous operators have created 'schools' where close to 100% of the enrollees are foreign students. These exploiters give their 'private' 'schools' posh-sounding "Canadian"/ "English" names--- and when you arrive, guess what? No Canadians. You've been swindled. Big hint: If the ''institution" will not reveal % of enrolled foreign students, save your money. The employers already know these "schools" and do not hire from them. Any more than 10% FS, hard pass.

Conestoga has been, by far, the worst abuser of International Students. Coconut College, as it is known locally, sets up dummy programs esp for Indian-recruited kids that can be easily passed, and have NO value in the local job market. Known as a diploma mill, employers ignore CC grads. They have flooded the local market with worthless grads.@@forcat3581 Hardto know what CC's are any good any more, but >10% International Students is a sure sign they are participating in the student-to-PR scam. No you can never earn 200k in Canada. Because government will eat 70K in taxes if you earn 200K. Many people do that and after converting that salary in CAD (1.3x) it might look big. Big data engineer might be offered 500k+ in bay area (location specific - due to competition / cost of living ) but only a fool will offer similar salary to someone located elsewhere in US - and to offer that to somebody in Canada is insane / unheard of & HR might have lost their pebbles 😅
