The Dark Redeemer is known as The Forsaken in the comics. He was the very first Redeemer. A group called the Exodus Foundation used the Dark Redeemer as a bloodhound to hunt down renegade Spawns.

The Dark Redeemer is definitely the cooler looking one. I thought they may have also used those wings for the Batman Who Laughs with Tyrant Wings but maybe not. The back of the box without any information always looks off to me. It's weird too because these are Mcfarlane's characters. You'd think he'd want as much info as possible out there.

I'll be buying dark redeemer instead of redeemer because i want to have a good mix of good and bad guy's from spawn universe. Wow! I hope Amazon didn't charge full price for the damaged box. Todd is very smart and he knows his fan base. It wouldn't surprise me if Todd released redeemer first because we'd want dark redeemer. Dark redeemer is so much cooler looking and dark redeemers sword is cooler too. The best thing about them is you can have a multiverse shelf. Like there're about to square off and do battle.

This version is way better imho. Reminds me of a mythic legions figure. Can't wait to find one.

I already bought the regular Redeemer, so I guess their strategy worked. If they release another variation with black and gold colors + a different weapon (like the angel spear or something) I'd definitely buy ASAP. After seeing this review I'm considering picking up Dark Redeemer now, just looking at it in your video instantly transports my mind back to the 2000's with edgy nu-metal and angsty alt-metal blaring in the background.

I had several figures on pre-order at the McFarlane online store, but they keep showing up earlier at Target and Gamestop! So I just got the Dark Redeemer at Target last week and I do like it over the original. I saw the original Redeemer at Walmart on clearance for $12 so I picked up another one. Perhaps they can have a war of the good vs evil angel warriors?

So if the Redeemer is anti spawn so what is the Dark Redeemer?

Looks like they sent you an Amazon warehouse damaged item. Usually I swoop in on those to save 3-5$ and it’s usually damage like this but sometimes the complete wrong figure that’s swapped by some idiot and sent back to them. Then I talk to cs and they let me keep the fig and give me a refund. You should tell them it was damaged and they may give you a refund.

You look like the big show

Not a fan of this figure. :[ It's a throwaway sculpt in my honest opinion. Todd could have pushed harder (or hire someone with more adequate sculpting skills) to pull off a better, more detailed sculpt with some edge to it. It's incredibly rudimentary in style. The only way to display him, is on a flight stand. It poses quite well on one. But that's it. Simply put, this thing lacks punch. If I can draw a comparison here, and this may sound harsh but its my honest opinion, these new figures reflect the same quality and effort as the pages in current Spawn comics. Some may look okay, but most of them are just rushed story boards with color. Out of all the newest Spawn figures Todd put out, the Mega Deluxe Violator is my only favorite piece of articulated art. All these other ones pale in comparison and that really sucks. I expect more from the man who used to enjoy verbally shitting on other companies while he pushed for top detail.
