Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of inactivity recently, been busy with art and music commissions as usual. Alot of my recent compositions/remixes have been requested to be private until the commissioners are ready for their announcements to their projects. I have about 4 songs ready to upload to KZfaq but I can't atm which is why it's nearly been a month since my last remix on here.
I got SUPER hyped for Metroid Prime 4 when I saw the logo, so I decided to finish up a very old project I've had lying around since last year. I wondered what Dark Samus theme would sound like in 4 (though we might not even be getting a Dark Samus in 4, we'll see) so here's my take on it. Enjoy!
Some of you may remember a very long time ago that I had a "Dark Samus Remashed" option for my strawpoll, which is why this was started so long ago. However, I don't really like the remashed series that much anymore as my passion for smash has died down a lot. The series isn't necessarily canceled, but they'll just be called remixes like normal. Thinking of doing the same with Dexicon.

The Metroid Prime requires Phazon to live. Dark Samus is the Metroid Prime. Phazon is a semi-sentient mutagen with a 'hive mind' on Phaaze. Phaaze has been destroyed. Dark Samus is not coming back. Sylux has been very strongly hinted at being the villain in the next game.

@d coffey That doesn't work. You can't clone the metroid prime because it's an entity made from pure Phazon. it HAS no DNA. It imitates Samus by examining her DNA and making a reproduction of it by triggering a phenomenal, and violent mutation in its initial host body. Effectively, if you tried to clone Dark Samus, you'd end up with a metroid.

Retro Hero 276 Dark Samus is dead for good, this time. With Phaaze (and all the Phazon) destroyed, even if she somehow survived the 6th beatdown from Samus, the death of Phazon would starve her out. MP4 is the gateway for our much-loved sharpshooter Sylux to make a grand entrance as the new antagonist.

Reckless Redcoat I see him more as anti hero through out the next chapter, I'm sure there will be another evil antagonist group which he may be involved with, or hell it would be badass if the galactic federation reveal their true nature and samus turns on them and allies with sylux and it's up to the both of you to take out the GF and in the end of some scenario stylus ends up risking his life for samus that would truly be a nice twist to nintendo beloved franchise for storytelling

The NIhilist Despite it being grounded lore that Sylux DESPISES the feds and Samus, I'd hardly call him an antihero; he'll go out of his way just to fuck shit up for them both on an apocalyptic scale. Sylux is full-on badguy nemesis material. But I do see your point. Given Other M, it's obvious the Feds aren't all goody two-shoes, which I like; adds a bit of grounded realism of no true good guys in such a hostile world. I, for one, think Sylux needs to become a pivotal character, at least, given the level of intrigue and mystery Retro designed him with, alongside his cameos in Prime 3 and Federation Force.

It's going to be kind of weird having MP4 star Sylux as the main antagonist instead of Dark Samus. Perhaps some kind of delusion or ghost of sorts will appear as a boss (assuming they don't retcon all phason vanishing from the universe). If dark Samus doesn't Appear then it will be strange having it be "Metroid Prime" 4 and not actually having Metroid Prime in it. (Excluding Hunters and Federation Force, as spinoffs it's not too crazy)

This is awesome! I'm such a huge Metroid fan... I love the Dark Samus fight in echoes and corruption. I really hope Nintendo doesn't screw Metroid up further with Prime 4. But, let's just assume they learned their lesson from the last 2 Metroid games... Anyways, I can't even tell you how awesome this is! I hope you make more Metroid remixes! :D

To those confused as to why Dark Samus most likely won't be in Metroid Prime 4, she was finally destroyed for good in MP3. This isn't to say Nintendo couldn't suddenly retcon the story to come up with a new explanation if they wanted to bring her back, but it's safe to say she's truly dead now. In MP3, Dark Samus began corrupting other planets with Phazon by sending Leviathans from Phaaze to said planets. To control all of the Leviathans and their deposits of Phazon, she installed the stolen Aurora Unit into the core of Phaaze. I believe she got the idea for this when she corrupted the space pirate home world and gained the knowledge from their databases about Mother Brain, as the Aurora Unit was to act as her version. Unfortunately, the destruction of the Aurora Unit caused Phaaze to explode, much like the destruction of Mother Brain caused Zebes to explode (twice). Therefore, it can be inferred the Leviathans--even if she had sent more out than the Federation knew about--would all pretty much die, as well as any outsourced Phazon deposits. This can further be assumed because early in MP3 Dark Samus infects Samus with the Phazon corruption, but when Samus destroys the Aurora Unit and Phaaze self-destructs, all traces of Samus' corruption disappear. However, like I said, Nintendo could just say "Whoopsie" and devise some new way for Phazon to have survived to have an excuse to bring back Dark Samus.

She seemed dead after 2. Her body was unstable, she disintegrated, and then she was trapped in a collapsing universe. I know she comes back because of phazon and Phaze planet should have destroyed it all,, but both the Federation and Pirates have a habit of taking and preserving samples. Or she could just pop back in like Ridley with absolutely no explanation on how he keeps coming back from his various deaths.

The problem with DS dying for good when phaaze was destroyed is that it seems bizzare that destroying the source somehow destroys the planets that have already turned.

Remember, as long as Phazon exists, dark samus will never fade from existence. It'll keep returning until Phazon is gone for good. Which brings me to my biggest question, Why did Metroid Prime absorb the Phazon suit? To get samus's abilities combined with phazon?

I'd say either that or it needed some sort of vessel to retain a physical form in order to get revenge on samus or stay alive. If you get all the collectibles in the game before beating it, you get a post-credits scene where an arm of the phazon suit reaches out of a tiny pile/pool of phazon, which is how Dark Samus is born.
