ABOUT DARK SKIN IN INDIA - To all those who appreciated, THANK YOU. 🌺🌺🌺 To all those who think she isn't considered dark, which country you guys live in? I wish I was living in the same bubble as you guys are. Sadly In India, even dusky color, beautiful girl isn't considered pretty because she isn't fair. Forget about the color you are born with. Get tanned for a day and hear your uncles and aunties telling you how dark you have become. I wrote this #shortfilm I am a shade lighter than the girl we have casted in our short film. And I have heard hundred times how dark I am. Maybe because I come from North India, hence the expectation of fair skin is much higher; SADLY. The motive of the film was to say, that dark is beautiful. whatever shade it might be. 🙏

Lol that's not true here in the south side you can see actress who are dark, aunties might look at you like you're dark when you are actually dark, uncles ka chodoh ich aap they're even more darker than me but that doesn't mean being dark is inferior or something it's just a colour and we don't have to worry about it and dusky skin always looks beautiful.

"Why don't you get a complexion treatment for your arms?", "Don't wear short clothes, else your legs also will become dusky like your arms", "wear only full sleeves, or if your arms become any more dark you'll look like zebra"... I've got so used to these comments that I just laugh it off 😂 Luckily, I have a very loving husband... Once, someone jokingly asked him "which color did you fall for? Face or arms?" To which he replied "the colour of her heart - gold" ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I knew I made the right choice 😇

Have been a victim of my dark skin from childhood, and till date my office colleagues mock my colour at my back. Life sucks and let me tell you I have been a topper all my life and now I have a high paying government job, m a mother of 4year old son . Still nothing has changed in my life. But, you know, how u are, and what u have achieved, so there is no need to be dejected for what some insolent people say behind your back. Skin color is God given, and we should be proud that our skin color matches with the color of our soil.

I was called Kali by my own siblings. They give so much importance to looks. They are proud of their kid's fair complexions. But let me tell you, that I did much better in life than them. I am an independent working woman with children who have accomplished so much than my nieces. But my siblings have no accomplishments to be proud of, they are just ordinary people who spend their lives gossiping about others' looks. I am proud of myself and my dark skin.

I have also dark colour skin but my siblings have fair color. I always compared with themselves from childhood. When anyone come to know that I'm their sister they gave very wired reaction. It really hurts, being an introvert I never shared this things to anyone.

Even I have dark skin tone, since childhood, it was my dream to alteast increase some shade of skin tone. That effort also passed, but real fairness i found when studies got completed and I have a job in my hand, and now there is no mouth of people to open and say ki iski shadi kaise hogi...fight with situation girls.. There are 100 people who is ready to make you down but you know abt yourself that what value you deserve

My mother always compared me with my very fair sisters...she always made me wear light colour clothes saying dark colours will merge with my dark complexion...I was filled with inferiority complex...it was only when I entered my 30s , could I realise that I wasn't that dark that I would merge with the dark coloured clothes or darkness itself...I feel really sad when I remember those old days of my childhood and teenage... today I am super confident about my looks and everything!
